Well silly me for thinking that once I got the last thing done on my truck it would be done. The last thing was the Line-x and today it was done. Then as the put the tailgate back on more work came to be in the form of them dropping the gate on the top edge of the bumper. Then the owner also showed me two other scratches that happened:waah: So I guess now I get to see just how well this paint matches up. He was very up front with the news and told me to let him know what it cost to get fixed and he will take care of it.
But the good news is the bed looks great and the truck will be ready for the Cal Expo show this weekend (I will be their Saturday):metal:

Bed looks good. That scratch just adds a little character. It's a shop truck :).

Man, that sucks :(
I see that you decided to go "over the rail." Could you post up some side shots of where they stopped?
Still looks great :D

Kevin......bedliner looks great and I can relate to damaging stuff along the way.
I Believe that Cal Expo show is next weekend (if you're talking about the NSRA event)......same weekend as (the other) Kevin's get together down in Atwater......I'm kinda torn cuz I was thinking about putting mine in the Cal Expo thing too (kinda spendy though) or going down to Atwater....of course who knows how much fuel I would burn through driving down there and back.
What to do......

Yes I had my weekends mixed up. I was going to go to the Atwater event until I was informed I had dinner plans with some friends for a Charity event. Then I found out another friend has a full pass for me and Low Buck for Saturday at the Cal Expo show so that is were I will be.
I got a quart of paint this morning and already have the damage fixed and I will color sand and polish the spots Saturday morning before the show in Vacaville at the Nut tree. If I have time I want to hand polish the truck as well since I have not done that yet, it should turn out nice.

Wow, I just read through 43 pages and I am impressed you did an awesome job on this truck. As I was going through I kept wanting skip to the end to see the final product but I didn't want to miss any of the details.

Been there done that! Took me quite a few late nights to read through some of his builds. Needless to say his build and others here inspired me to get involved with these trucks after 16 years of not owning one.

Kevin I hope to meet you some day, I live in S.D. but my sister lives kind of near you, and I would love to see this truck first hand. I am going to be doing the same mod to my '69 C20 fleet and found your project most helpfull. I posted a bit about me in the welcome thread so I will not double post.

Kevin,
Thanks for all the inspiration. I have been following your build the whole way. You have inspired me to do a "low buck build" of my own.
Thanks again for all of the great information and pics:metal:
Here is my low buck lwb to swb conversion :)
