I found 2 places in town that I can get my paint removed but not sure what is different. One uses some sort of chemical they dip the body in. The guy said its the same stuff that they use to strip engine blocks. They put a rust preventive spray on after and he said I can weld to it and paint over it. The other guy I found uses media blasting. It was more expensive then the chemical guy. What do you suggest I use anyone here ever use a chemical dip before? The media blasting guy said the chemical can stick around in doors and then bubble the paint later, but that’s his competition so I would expect him to say that.

I had a '62 Impala that I had dipped and I have to say it was great. It gets everything out of all the nooks and crannies. And after they dip it, it is cleaned and the dipping agent is neutralized. When you get it back, wipe it down, clean it real well with a wax/grease remover, shoot some etch prime on it and then a good epoxy primer, then you can go on with all of your body work. You shouldn't have any problems later on.
