Not I......mine hasn't ventured more than a mile from the shop yet. Can't imagine what that must feel like.....bout killed me just to have the wheel fall off and half to redo the fender!

I'm itchin big time to get mine "street legal" since the weather has been perfect the last week or so......I'm sure it's just a tease and we will see more "winter" yet!

Jim
on your 60-40 seat, you said that you took 1.5 inch out of the rear of the Frame,
and 1.25 inch out of the Front of the frame to lower the seat.when I look at the Frame on the seat I was just not sure how you did it.I was going to just take
1.5 front and rear, but want to see how you did the Frame on your Seat.Do you Think you can take a few Pictures of the seat in the Truck and the side shot of the Frame.

Got it........I just used masking tape to tape the cut lines I wanted, used a cut-off wheel and took sections (see red line) right out of the middle part of the supports. if you do it right in the middle, all will line up except the rear (see red circle). I welded a little strap on the rear to strengthen.

I used different dims from front to rear cuz I wanted the seat to tilt back just a little more. 1.5 will work fine front and rear. the inner bracket (legs) for the pass seat is a little more tricky cuz it's doesn't sit flush to the floor.

Awesome truck. Thinking of going with a similar color-intense blue pearlcoat. Don't hate but its a Dodge color.

Sorry for the delayed answers.....haven't posted anything on my build thread in awhile.

Jim,

Just running a mechanical 120 gph Holley pump with a Mallory return style pressure regulator. The carb is an 800 cfm AVS Edelbrock.

dood,looks sweet...what size blower is that? 6-71?

I WISH a 6-71 would fit under the hood! It's a Weiand 142.

I may have to see your truck now, since you are local, and next week I am picking up a 72 GMC C1500 Sierra and selling my 75 Chevy C10 Silverado. Looks like I could learn some stuff and get some ideas just from looking at your truck. Very nice. Lots of inspiration from your truck.

well that 72 didnt work out, but i am checking out a 67 Short Fleet tomorrow :D
Oh, as for car shows, my Senior Thesis Project for next year is to hopefully hold a car show to raise money for my school(small charter downtown). would you be interested in showing up? your truck definitely made it through my strict requirements ;) I don't have the whole thing concrete right now, but I will make it work one way or another.

Be there in a heartbeat if my schedule is clear!

If you need space for a car show, let me know. Tons of concrete space at the place where I work, not to mention, lots of cool collision repair equipment.

Been awhile since I posted some pics.

Been enjoying the truck some and taking to local car shows and actually won first place at one of them........felt pretty cool!

These gas prices aren't doing me any favors though!

Chevy/GMC C1500/2500 88-91 is in his. You can get the same seat up to 94, but the 92-94 will have adjustable headrests.

Thanks, Ron

Ron.....the auto parts places around here (Kragen, AutoZone...etc) carry rolls of carpet (actually "felt" like and pretty light duty) that I just cut to fit and glued down to the floor. It's only like $10 a roll and worked great and I also used in on my sub box. Only downside is that there aren't but a few colors available.

You're probably tired of hearing this, but killer truck. I love the stance and the wheels...love that you kept the trim and moldings...and I'm really digging the color; it reminds me of "marina blue" from chevelles, camaros, vettes, etc.

jb1016.....never get tired of hearing it (who would?)....lot of work went into this thing and I appreciate the "attaboys"! You hit the nail on the head with the Marina Blue......that's why I painted it later model Corvette Blue.

Sactojim,
Did you have any problems with those stamped steel hats? I had my axles turned down and after everythings mounted securely I have 0.050 runout. Wondering if I should use aluminum hats.
Anyway, your truck is a great inspiration!

Though I haven't measured mine, I have a bit of runout as well (side to side). I have about 3,000 miles on it, had it up to 100 mph a few times and no weird vibrations or braking probs.

I'd say just leave it like it is and see how it acts.

Thanks!

Thank you very much!.....as far as the tank goes, I'm very happy with it and it works just perfect with the only drawback being that I have to drop the tailgate everytime I fuel up.....and that's quite often cuz it's kinda thirsty!

This is my absolute favorite truck on this forum. I like everything about it, I even borrowed a few ideas for my own truck. (Hope you don't mind) The planning and execution is second to none ,and the quality is superior. I'm sure you've heard this a thousand times, Job Well Done.

DANG!.....just took a look at your build...not sure how I missed it (actually I had seen it....just not with paint on it yet). That thing is turning out beautiful......perfect stance and love the staggered wheel combo with perfect offsets......I came really close to ordering Coy's.

I'm pretty happy with mine and the way it turned out, (BTW....thanks very much for the compliment) but when I see your's with the staggered wheels and bagged suspension.......maybe I'm not quite done!

Color really "pops" on your truck and looks like high quality paint and body work......you gotta be really excited to get it on the road.

I have no doubt at all, that you will suck some day as well......but I fear that you will suck the most because of all the cool fab work you're doing on your project!!!......I imagine that bitchen dash is just a small example of the build quality the rest of the truck will meet.

I love the truck!!! I didnt read the entire thread but i was wondering how much boost you were runnin and how muck power did it make!!! I am building a 385 stroker and just wondering how well it does with a supercharger! Also what size supercharger is it??? THanks in advance!!

SactoJim
11-30-2008, 01:51 PM
Thanks!........It's a Weiand 142 and the most boost I've seen (when I've looked) is about 5 lbs. I think the blower is better suited for a 350 or smaller cube motor and is a little too small for a 383. I calculate that I'm seeing hp levels somewhere just north of 500 and the low end torque is awesome and it does make for a great street motor.
