I'm in Central RI, Just off I-95.

There are at least 2 more that I know that live in the area. One's a dark blue LWB 72 that I see at a lot of car shows, and another's a lighter Blue LWB 71 (I think) that I see at work occasionally.

Mark

Mark, I am on the east side of the lake before the pavillion, 4 yellow cabins and a 3 BR house. It is now for sale, the old lady and I are too busy for it, plus we want to travel in out motor home

My truck is stripped, I sent the engibe out and had front & rear seals done, valave cover gaskets and other minor work. The tranny and transfer are out and having leaks fixed and flushed out as well. The front clip, cab and bed are off, the frame is being sandblasted all the brake and fuel lines will be replaced, leaf spring bushings, etc. I rebuilt the steering box and front end to take the 3/4 turn of the steering wheel slack out 2 years ago. I am stopping short of disassembling-reassembling the tie rods and ball joints. I still have not decided on a color but still have time to decide. Everything will be sandblasted rustproofed primed and put back together that can be salvaged, 60% of the sheetmetal will be new. The hood can be reused and the fender bottoms reworked/replaced. I am changing the bed to put in a wood/stainless floor, 8 ft feetside.

What you got?

The cabins would be a good place for a mini meet!?

Hi Bill,

A mini meet sounds like a great idea. I haven't seen too many trucks of our era up here in the NE.

I'll pm you with details of my ride.

How about in May at my Place in Alton, NH I have room for anybody who would want to stay over we could have an afternoon, bar-B-Q and a fire at night, nobody would have to drive if they chose to have an adult beverage or had far to travel. We would need to pick a date with a rain/Snow? date of the following week.

Hey Bill,

Thanks for the offer to host this mini meet. 5/19 (Sat) would work best for me (the Bonney Eagle Show in ME is 5/20 and I am planning to attend, weather permitting). I will be glad to help out in anyway I can (since I am in Alton as well).

Mark, thanks for the offer to help I keep it in mind , I was thinking people would come and bring what they wanted, we would hang and yuk it up, I don'y know of any events we can do (we could blow up my Ford?!?) Open to suggestions here. My ride won't be done, but it will be fun meeting other enthusiasts. The Bonney Eagle is a great show, I might head over there Sunday as well.

Any Others interested? The more the merrier!

The 19th sounds good to me. The 20th is my 29th wedding anniversary and I better be around for that. How about a parts swap /sell /trade. save some of us shipping. I know I have some stuff. Two long bed stepside bedsides in good shape two seats and other assorted stuff. We could post what we have and what we need on here and bring it with us. Just an idea. ??? I wonder if we would get in trouble with the mods if you put this on the regular board so more people could see it.

Not sure if the regular board is the right place to announce the get together. But I think if you start a new thread in this forum with a new title (like New England Mini-Meet) with the announcement and details, that would be the most appropriate way to announce and invite. Just my 2 cents.

Quinn

Hi Quinn,

We did not have the mini meet in May, mostly due to weather and little interest as I remember.

Glad to hear there is another board member in Alton. Have I seen your truck in town? What color is it? Would love to see some pics. There aren't many of our trucks around.

You may have seen mine. It's a black 71 shortbed, dropped with all the trim. I sometimes get a coffee at Dunkins and then sit at the town docks to watch the boats and people. If you see me (next spring now), be sure to stop and say hi. I live on the south end of town near the Barnstead line.

Up in VT but always up for a meet-n-greet/parts swap.

Have a small parts yard of old chevy's and do paint and body work too.

Mark,
We are Neighbors, I live at the top of Dudley Road. Are you on 28? (PM me if you don't want to post your actuall location here) I have to admit I have not seen your truck around town, although I do hit the Docks to people watch as well.

My '68 is bone stock, not restored (yet), Excellent shape for its year, barn find. No rot, Wood bed. 52K, Dark Blue, 292, Muncie 4 speed 4:10 rear.

Planning on installing a two speed gearbox in back of the tranny to put in highway gears, two tone Blue paint, pull the bed, plane the wood and re-install it. 'Lectric fan, Offenhauser intake with a triple set. Other than that it will stay stock.

I usually find an excuse to take it into town about once a weekend. Usually into Ruban's for something or another. I took it up into Northern Maine fishing last June. It seemed to fit in well.

I'll keep an eye out for you.
