View Full Version : Pics Requested for Fleetside w/o Rear Bumper
Eliasj123 02-05-2007, 03:16 PM Hey,
I'm thinking of just removing my rear bumper on my 64 Fleetside and leaving it off.
See as many pics as possible would be cool.. And let me know if you did anything to the rear like a cover or something..
Thanks,
Elias
SkylineNXS 02-05-2007, 04:01 PM I would recommend a roll pan, although i have not yet done one. I was planning on doing one since they are cheaper to buy then getting a chrome bumper and the bolt up hardware. Mine at the moment has nothing back there, but its up against the garage wall and it doesnt run, so sry, i got no pics......
Frizzle Fry 02-05-2007, 07:19 PM My brother's 64 with no bumper, and a nice 62 with a roll pan. I'd go for the pan...
Frizzle Fry 02-05-2007, 07:21 PM Here's where I found the 62 btw... http://www.customclassictrucks.com/featuredvehicles/0606cct_1962_chevy_pickup_shortbed/photo_08.html
Eliasj123 02-05-2007, 07:49 PM Very Cool... I'm liking the Roll Pan...
I think I'll take off the bumper until I can afford a roll pan...

I hate to hi-jack the thread, but do have the mag with that truck in it? I would like to know what color that is. Thanks.

I believe the color was quoted as Bahama Blue. I have the mag and i'll check for you. I saw that truck in person at Pleasanton Good Guys last year and its even nicer in the flesh

Thanks. I usually go to Goodguys in Pleasanton, but missed last year's.
Srubydo1986 02-21-2007, 02:19 AM these picture make me sad nowing my great grandfather 65 short bed fleet is sitting out side at the farm it so bad the axel has rusted off the frame. Funny thing is tho the body panels are rust free

The mag is the June 2006 Custom Classic trucks and the article quotes the color as DuPont Bahaman Blue. Without a paint code I'm not sure how much use that is....

Eliasj123 06-29-2007, 01:59 PM WOW.. I'm surprised that this thread came back to life. I've been out of the loop for a few months because I couldn't afford to drive my truck at 10mpg.
Thanks for all the pics. I ended up taking off the bumper sometime in March.
Now it's time to fix the door DENTS and paint it... Oh yeah and tires...
btw - I love knowing how gas I have in the truck after replacing the fuel sending unit. Now, I just dream of filling it up...
