Thanks! I've got more done on "Donkey" in a shorter amount of time than any of my projects. I really can't wait to drive it! BarryB 06-22-2007, 09:56 PM ("Guess the 48/52 can be the cat....I forgot the name ") Puss N Boots is the name of the cat. voiced by Antonio Banderas. Hart_Rod 06-25-2007, 10:31 PM Almost have the cab sandblasted. Should have it done by tomorrow if it doesn't rain. Throw some primer on and back on the chassis until I'm ready to finish it. Yukon Jack 06-26-2007, 10:16 AM That cab is so perfectly done! Hart_Rod 06-27-2007, 10:54 PM That cab is so perfectly done! I plan on making a few changes but not many, ;) . It's black again!!!!! subtle71 06-27-2007, 11:28 PM I can't remember the last time I saw a dash that wasn't all hacked up around the radio or holes where misc. items were attached to the dash over the years! Looking good. What color are you thinking of going with for the exterior? At this pace, you will have it and the 'burb ready for Cruisin' the Coast! Later Rob! Dean Hart_Rod 06-27-2007, 11:49 PM I can't remember the last time I saw a dash that wasn't all hacked up around the radio or holes where misc. items were attached to the dash over the years! Looking good. What color are you thinking of going with for the exterior? At this pace, you will have it and the 'burb ready for Cruisin' the Coast! Later Rob! Dean Thanks Dean. The dash and firewall are pretty incredible. It's got some bumps and bruises elsewhere and a little rot in the floors, but it has less rust issues than the Burb did. As far as being ready by Cruzin the Coast, , maybe next year. I'm leaving for NM the first week of August, so progress will come to a screeching halt for a while, :( . But, I will have them both at a good stopping place. R krue 07-05-2007, 02:01 AM Renamed like you wanted. Whatcha doin' in NM? Hart_Rod 07-05-2007, 08:47 AM Renamed like you wanted. Whatcha doin' in NM? Thanks for updating the thread Krue. I'm going to be the Commanding Officer of the Albuquerque Navy Reserve Center. rlm316 07-05-2007, 09:07 AM Rob, That is on its way to being one very cool ride! I can't wait to see the finished product. Quick question, Why didn't you use the original frame and cut it down? By the way, good luck on the move. Lane Hart_Rod 07-05-2007, 03:35 PM Rob, That is on its way to being one very cool ride! I can't wait to see the finished product. Quick question, Why didn't you use the original frame and cut it down? By the way, good luck on the move. Lane Thanks Lane. The original frame was a long wheel base 3/4 ton frame that had already been stretched under the cab (the frame was cut in half and 33" were added in). This seemed like the strongest way to do it, only one 45 degree cut on each side and it's already set up for a 6 1/2' bed. LOW DOUGH 07-05-2007, 07:29 PM cool Hart_Rod 07-05-2007, 11:58 PM I've been working with Stan at ECE on a bolt in crossmember for the 4L60E to go along with their 5.3 motor mounts. Here's the first proto-type. It uses factory mounting holes and the 4L60E one stud rubber mount. Hopefully Stan can get the headers figured out with Sanderson and then they will be able to sell a 5.3/4L60E install kit, :metal: . GREASEMONKEY72 07-06-2007, 12:07 AM cab looks nice all flat black, do you know what the finial color will be? Eric Hart_Rod 07-06-2007, 12:44 PM cab looks nice all flat black, do you know what the finial color will be? I haven't quite decided. I'm pretty sure it will be a two tone, with the top of the cab white and some other color. Considering a dark green with no metal flake in it. Hey Rob you want to come motivate me to build my truck.....lol love the work can't wait to see it finshed.... Eric Thanks Eric. Mike, it was blasted with plastic media to remove the paint. Then we sand blasted the metal to etch it before priming it with epoxy primer. I would I think it looks awesome.. im gonna be following carefully. I'm not sure if I will do that or just put on a stock SWB. Good news! We must have measured correctly when building the frame, because the cab mounting holes lined up when we mated the cab to the new chassis. I can't believe how low it already is, :metal: . I didn't think it would sit this low until it was all bolted back together, :D. OlChev67 07-20-2007, 02:24 PM gonna be a great lookin truck Hart_Rod 07-20-2007, 07:34 PM Here's some more pictures with the radiator and core support bolted on.
