Of course theywant to get rid of old cars so they can sell more new ones. What a scam when you consider the actual number of old cars on the road is
almost none exsistant when compared to post 87 vehicles. A better idea would be to keep fixing and driving old cars and shut down the heavily polluting car plants making new ones. This would cut emissions more than crushing old cars. Let's see how the shareholders like that!
Oh wait that would be recycling we wouldn't want to do that.

Are they gonna force older vehicles off the road, or what is their plan?

Sounds like a load of B.S. From what I read it almost sounded like the government vehicles were the ones they want to replace. Trying to force older vehicles off the road would go over like a lead balloon.

They have been trying to do that crap down here in the states for years. But it usualliy ends in nothing being done. I agree with cleaner fuels but leave the old cars alone. Peace.

What a waste of taxpayer`s money. If those political idiots had any clue, they wouldn`t wastetheir time. The laws of nature govern this whole dilema. The older models keep thinning with age and the newer/cleaner ones fill the spot.Of the older vehicles out there, most are driven on a limited basis.
All o/d and better economy/lower emmissions has done is allow people to move farther from work, drive more miles,go faster, and balance out all these legislative car-building tactics. There`s two ways to lower pollution...drive less or don`t drive.
But, as usual this legislation will get pshed though, either because our elected officials will quietly pass it without letting the public know, or because we are passive Canadians we won't stand up for ourselves, and just allow the government to walk all over us again. I say everyone with an old car or truck should find their MP and run them over. Problem solved
