I've been playing with PS on a pic for the for sale section. Just simple things like adding text and circling parts.
Anyway, I got it all edited and saved but now I can't open the pic with any other program except PS.
When I try to upload the image to Photobucket I get this message;
"The file "SWPpullies002 numbered.PSD" does not have a valid image extension.
Valid image extensions are: gif, jpg, jpeg, png, bmp, swf."
How do I change the image extension from PSD to one of the accepted formats?

open it back up in PS, then "save as" a jpeg or whatever you wanna save it as.

open it back up in PS, then "save as" a jpeg or whatever you wanna save it as.
That's the problem. When I choose "save as" the only option it gives me says "Photoshop (*.PSD;*.PDD)".

I think you have to flatten the layers before it'll let you save it in any other format.

How do I flatten the layers? What layers...?

I don't remember how, but there's a menu for layers and you can flatten layers :D. The PSD file is more than a picture, it holds all sorts of information about what you've pasted in and such.. it's like a whole workspace and history.

You shouldn't have to flatten the layers to save as a jpeg. As stated, go to "save as" and then in the drop down menu choose jpeg. If you feel you must flatten the layers. You can do that under "Layer" then "Flatten Image" but again I don't think that should be necesarry. What version of PS are you using?

Version 5.0 LE
Good? Bad?
On the "save as" drop down menu I've only got the one option,
(Photoshop *.PSD;*.PDD)".
There should be more options then, right?
I try flattening if I can figure it out...

Found the Flatten image. It worked! Now I have multiple options on the drop down menu.
Thanks everybody!
bw4sale; How do you post a screen shot like that?

press print scrn button, then go to paint and select paste from the drop down menu and save.
