My 71 Burb has rust holes in the rear wheel wells, right at the seem of the wheel tub halfs. What is the fix, remove the seem and replace with new metal . How hard is it to remove the wheel tub. Do they sell new ones. Is the truck same. any info would be great.

The tubs just unbolt. Truck ones are different. Post a WTB ad, you should be able to find some pretty easily.

Hey Rob, Do they unbolt as one piece or two. Is it attached to the quarter panel in any way. Thanks for the input. John

They unbolt at the floor lip and are spot welded along the seam. Sometimes the carraige bolts are hard to undo. I have found sometimes if the bolts are real rusty it is easier to tighten them to break them rather than fight with loosening.

Not knowing how much rust repair is needed on your tubs, I would still look at repairing them instead of replacing them. When we replaced my son's Burb tubs we removed the floor to get access to the tubs and side walls. Even with the floor out of the way it was a chore to get the tubs out. In addition to the tubs being welded in at the lips of the wheel openings, there is a brace that is welded on top of the tub(s). It is a tight fit and the replaced tub has to be worked into place.
Here is a pic of the Burb with the floor out and the tubs removed.
