Well not really at my place, but close enough!
We reserved a shelter at Dan Nicholas Park for the April birthdays. So along with that we are doing a mini meet, ie ya'll are welcome to come play.

This place is neato, if you have kids bring em... If you don't just come hang out.
We have it from 10-6 on april 28th, which is a Saturday.

Some of the attractions they have at this park are a wildlife reserve, gem mine, carousel, train ride, paddle boats, hiking trails, fishing, lake walk trail, mini golf and 3 very large playgrounds seperated by age appropriate play yards.

There are two parking lots adjacent to the shelter, so plenty of room to park

We plan on grilling out and spending the day. My eight year old will be celebrating his birthday party here that day. We will be celebrating Josh,Meli (from radio) and all the other April bday folks that show up as well (good excuse for a party huh?)

This is the link to the park http://dannicholas.net/ They have cabins and campgrounds on premise as well as several hotels in the area.

I have been there for last fall's company picnic. It is an awesome place. Something for all ages. Everyone that has a chance to go should really go, you will not regret it. Me and my wife Brenda will definitely be there. Looking forward to meeting other members of this board.
How about March Bday folks, like me? LOL ..... JK. Can't wait.

Where, exactly in E.C.did you live? What school did you go to and when did you graduate?Ilived in Columbia and also had an apartment down in historic E.C. next to Talbot Lumber(landlord).Did you know about "Jack of Arts"?He`s an old friend.

It rings a bell, but I can't really remember. I lived in Normandy Heights. That is on top of the hill behind the Normandy Shopping Center and across Rt40 from the Normandy Bowling Alley. I grew up in the house on the corner of Mt.Etna Cir. and Normandy Dr. My grandfather and I used to get our hair cut at a Barber shop that used to be across from what I imagine used to be the library on Main St. Then we would pick up some fresh ground country sausage from the country store on the corner up from the old theater. I went to Mt. Hebron High School and graduated in '87. For 7 years I used to deliver pizzas for Pizza On Wheels(long out of business) which had 1 store in Columbia(on Rt108) and 1 store on the West end of town past Bethany Ln. When were you there?

So if i show up are you guys and gals going to: 1. Ignore me because no one knows me or 2. make fun of me because im a "yankee"? Maybe i should just stay home. Are any other not so regulars gonna show up?

Darrell

Oh yeah... this is someones birthday party... what kind of presents should we bring?

Liz

actually im a (damn) yankee, and im co throwing it.. so nope you wont be beaten and such :hm:

I know I'm from Pa but, I just so happen to be going to the Outter Banks that day with the family for a week and would love to stop by for a few hours if I can fit it in. I'll try my best if its not toooo far out of the way.

If any one could let me know better park info I would appritate it.

BTW three of the six of us in my family have B-days in april including myself.

Thanks RJ22

Oh yeah,Cape hatteras in April...awesome.It took a long time to get that out of my blood(and only by force of marriage).Starting in high school I`d go for Easter with at least the one bud and meet up witha ll his buds from Virginia Beaach and Carolina. We`d kick-off the surf season and terrorize the Buxton campground. One guy had a commissary card and we`d haul our longhaired hineys to the Naval base for cases of cheapo brewskis. And,I agree about the hi-jacking,too.That ain`t right!!
Who else love Hatteras in April?

Liz
04-03-2007, 02:47 PM

Dang Liz,I had almost forgotten to reply to this.I will be at Charlotte but unfortunately I leave for Tx the 20 th and will be back to NC.the afternoon of the 28 th.I would try to come but I'll just have driven a little over 1600 miles in the 3 days before. Then I leave for Maggie Valley.I just will not be able to fit it in.
On another note,we will have another NC meet this spring/summer.I will work on details and post after Maggie Valley.Maybe I can get crummy and phlegm to help co-host they probably know the area better than me.I would really like to do a cruise to somewhere,or at least a driving type event, maybe a Poker Run or something.

Just wanted to check and see if it was OK to bring a trailer queen?
We can't fit all of the herd in the truck, but I could trailer it down and unload it to play for a few....
Can't wait to come and meet everyone!!

cents there is more then enough room at the house for the truck n trailer, you can bring whatever you want. The driveway is a pain to get into from the road (2 lane no shoulders and ditches) but we do it, so i know you can.. then you can drive the truck wherever.. and ill be usin both cars so i might even steal a few kids from you n red, so yall can play a few.
