cory321 05-23-2007, 02:36 PM Do i sign up here if i am not putting anything in the show
Mudder 05-23-2007, 10:33 PM When we did this at Indy I actually entered my truck in teh Super Chevy Show there. I am just gonna wash it and drive it to Boss's. No detailing.
LUV2XCLR8 05-23-2007, 11:11 PM Entry fee? or is this just a people's choice thingy for fun?
RACINJASON22 06-05-2007, 01:36 AM Since LUV2XCLR8 and I are on the job so to speak  can ya post a few details that you may have in mind as to what you might think would be good Ideas to do classes, judging asspects and such, prizes ya know just suggestions so we can be a little bit prepared anyway.
I was thinking about maybe putting in a best camping arrangement also just for fun. or even best travel vehical for the guys that can't bring there trucks. just a few thought that I was tossing around in my head since there is so much extra space not used in there:crazy:

u guy's i have so many threads to tally and and keep track of.
if u guy's would take it from here that would be great.
no fee as per josh..
what we will do for prizes is we have small stuff and donations that will work fine this more for fun and something to do than anything else.
i am going to say off the top of my head go with 5 prizes to start with. i still need to hook up with boss and figure out how many prizes we have to go around for the whole event.
i know we are doing raffle tickets that may be for money and prizes or just money?
there's so much to plan and figure out:lol:
just u guy's taking the ball and running with it will take a load off me.
u guy's can do what ever u can with what u got. if u want to buy a couple trophy's go for it
i am spending what i would have donated to the meet for kids prizes, safety vest. raffle tickets, megaphone, t-shirts etc. i have spent over 100.00 so far
on what i have gotten for the meet.
but i am planning this thing:gi:
so its still very important that we still get donations for the food and supplies.
if u know how to raise money do it.
u could do a raffle ticket thing just for the car/truck show.
any question please please please ask.
as this is the beginning of a wonderful but unplanned event so far.
get the picture? i am sure u guys have been to car shows!!!!we just need to keep it with-in our means.
as there's a ton of other stuff going on at the meet as well. i am sure if u guy's put your heads together u will develop a wonderful event.
just keep me posted on the progress mark. and i will try to hook u up with more helpers :gi:
Mudder 06-05-2007, 07:12 AM I have some ideas for the truck show. I will not enter. I was just planning on detailing my truck when I get there to show guys just how good some of the stuff works that I use.
RACINJASON22 06-05-2007, 12:55 PM Mudder, I think you are going to be in the show.
We want any/all to enter :metal:
Mark, That sounds good to me, about talking the ball and running with it. :)
I was trying to get some ideas from you and anyone else with things that they have seen in the past that they thought were good ideas or neat that we could incorparate.
Hey every one we need interested entries posted here so we can get an idea on a plan of attack. So post away with what you may be bringing along for the show.
RJ22...:)
BACKYARD88 06-05-2007, 02:14 PM I'll sign my wife's truck up for the show if newer stuff is OK. The specs are in my sig.
Mudder 06-05-2007, 02:28 PM I believe this will be for all Chevy trucks since they are all represented on the Board. Jason and I have tossed some ideas back and forth. We will wait and see what Luv says and his ideas. Any others are welcome.
HuggerCST 06-05-2007, 02:54 PM How about this- Yall come up with the categories, and let everybody vote on them. As for trophies, we can do home-made ones. Maybe a custom painted port-a-john seat?
LUV2XCLR8 06-05-2007, 03:00 PM Categories? I'd keep em broad since we will have multiple years, makes, etc...
Mudder sent us a few cats to ponder over, seems fine to me. I won't enter in
this since I am helping judge it / set it up. Like Mudder I'm just bringing mine
for ................ Actually I have no idea why I am bringing mine with me?

Broad works for me, but I don't think yall should have to sit out of the show. Maybe just let everybody(wives and kids included) vote for a "people's choice", and yall could enter that.

:agree: it wouldn't be right without your ride in the mix Luv.:gi:
Mudder 06-05-2007, 03:23 PM Ok.......send (PM) me your 5 catagories. I will figure them all up and make a poll in the next few days and we will go from there. I told Liz that I would check on some real awards here locally that would have our Borad logo on them. If it's not feasable we can do something else.As for judging the guys in Tn are wanting to have some shows and this would be a good way for them to get a little practice judging. (If they are game). We can also have one award that will be a peoples choice. And like I thought since there aren't many signing up for this we can direct trucks we think are worthy to the show area as we park them. :) We do need to get our catagories down tho.
kyull67 06-05-2007, 05:18 PM I'll enter my completey stock '81 GMC longbed.
kyle
58 gmc 06-05-2007, 08:54 PM I will enter my 1958 GMC if thats ok. see ya there
rage'nrat638 06-05-2007, 09:49 PM looking good guy's....... members keep'em coming.
staff your doing great :metal:
Mudder 06-06-2007, 11:38 AM Ok called a lady today and found out some prices for plaques. It is doable. You all have to help me with these catagories and how many. I would say no more than 7 or 8. The plaques will cost me about 150-160 bucks. The lady is coming by here in the next couple of days to see what I want and to see if she can put the forum logo on the metal. She sounds like she is new to all this and I have about 40-50 plaques laying in my living room. :) She was pretty excited about looking at all of them and even asked if she could bring her camera.
I have only had Luv send me his list of catagories. Rest of you get with it!!! :)
RACINJASON22 06-06-2007, 01:05 PM Here's what I was thinking:
Best of Show Overall
Best Original
Best Custom
Best Interior
Best Paint/Exterior
Best Driver/driven on a regular basis but, this may be hard to regulate.
Best Camp Site
Also best Non-Truck cause I'm sure there will be other Nice vehicals that attend that do not fit the truck theme, Just a thought here.
I think keeping the classes non-year specific is good because any and all will fit into these classes.
Long distance award is really not a judged class as this award should be given at the end of the meet for any person or person that attends. I do think there should be an award for this person or persons though.:metal:
Let us know what you think. As all the other classes that Mudder and LUV2XCLR8 have put out there are GR8 IMO also. We just need to put a cap on it somewhere.
RJ22...:)
Custom 68 06-06-2007, 02:50 PM I will be there and will enter the show. maybe I can try some of Mudders techniques on mine while there also.
oh yea "edit" is is a 1968 chevy SWB
LUV2XCLR8 06-06-2007, 03:12 PM I have only had Luv send me his list of catagories. :)
Just in case anyone was wondering, here is what I sent him;
1. Peoples Choice (Show Truck)
2. Best Overall Exterior
3. Best Overall Interior
4. Long Distance Driven
5. Best Under Construction
And if we could do more than that,
1. Peoples Choice (Non Show)
2. Best Original (Stock)
3. Long Distance Spectator
4. Long Distance Trailered
5. Best Campsite Award
Again these are just my thoughts,
Craig
HuggerCST 06-06-2007, 03:48 PM I kept mine pretty simple;
4wd
2wd
daily driver
people's choice
Best of show
It's all in how many awards we can give. If we can give more, I'm all for it. I think the distance awards, best under construction, best original, best custom, and best campsite are all good ones.
LUV2XCLR8 06-06-2007, 06:30 PM Works for me, I'm not in the running for any of them
Mudder 06-11-2007, 09:57 PM Ok...........Gonna leave the poll up one more day not that it will make any difference. It's pretty clear what the 5 catagories will be. One thing. I think one award per person period. If you are voted peoples choice you cannot win the best of show. Is that ok with everyone? Does this set well with everyone?

Works for me.
BACKYARD88 06-11-2007, 10:26 PM Sounds good to me too:)
RACINJASON22 06-13-2007, 01:07 AM I think that the one award/per is a good Idea.
RJ22...:)
LUV2XCLR8 06-15-2007, 04:47 PM :agree:
It would be great to hand out lots of them, but reality is this, it's a
"Made for the event show" and we have to draw a line somewhere.
