View Full Version : TN - Convoy to the Board Meet
LUV2XCLR8 05-25-2007, 09:58 PM Who's coming through here and when? I am just off I-40 in Jackson.
I am off Wednesday 7/4 through Sunday 7/8 so stop by, stop in, go
by, go with me, or whatever tickles your fancy. I'm just about ready
to go and I'm already Hungry. I am planning on leaving out Friday am.
Luv's Route > I-40W to US412N to I-155W to I-55N to US60W
Ron 586 05-26-2007, 06:23 AM It's good to see Tennessee represented here in the southeast region. Since they moved our 3 cookouts up to events we haven't had a lot to say. I haven't 100% made up my mind which way I'll go yet. Probably up through Murray KY. Will get the atlas out and look again. Will see you somewhere along the line. Take care.
LUV2XCLR8 05-26-2007, 06:30 AM Everyone has to turn left (West) at Sikeston if they are coming from the East!
If nuthing else a few of us might meet there and roll the last 3 hrs together.
larry may 05-26-2007, 06:33 AM Ron did you make a garage out of that Grain Bin in your Avatar. Seen a silo converted to a hide out not far from here. Could be that is not a door that I think I see at the bin. Kool if so. Larry
LUV2XCLR8 05-26-2007, 06:43 AM Larry,
Yes he did, I'm sure he will chime in w/ more info, it's wild to see in person
larry may 05-26-2007, 10:12 AM Yaba dab a doooo! I like it . What s the inside L-L?
Ron 586 05-26-2007, 01:30 PM http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f99/230x/ronnaomi044.jpg
Yep you spotted the door on my pout shack. It was on the property when I bought it and it was going to cost to much to take it down and move it. So I ended up with it and decided it would be a good place to park the tractor. So I cut a 10' high 12' wide opening and had a door installed. It is 30' across and is a lot roomier than it looks. It is 24' from the slab to where the roof starts so I had a floor put in at 12' with a wall hugging stairway. It is a good place to hide my junk. It is one of those things that I can tell you about for hours but until you've been in it you don't believe it. Come to my cookout July 21 and you can take a look at it.
larry may 05-26-2007, 01:42 PM  that is just too cool . I aimed to ask that a while back and got to laughing at Some other post and for got to ask you about the Door. Nothing goes wasted . In door storage is preimimum nowadays. Pout shack!
Larry
Are we stopping at Lambert's to eat??? I keep hearing about this place.
Ron 586 05-31-2007, 11:27 AM I'm hoping to meet with some of us in Sikeston. Lamberts would fine with me. I'll go along with whatever works for the most people.
augie 05-31-2007, 01:32 PM Well it looks like I'll be leaving Memphis around 1:30 or so then headed straight up 63 to 60 then heading west from there. So if anyone will be on the road let me know, and we can try to meet up. Also if anyone knows a good place for me to stop in Memphis for some lunch, let me know because that will be the first thing i'll be looking for.
Mudder 05-31-2007, 02:02 PM Beale street in Memphis. :)
LUV2XCLR8 05-31-2007, 02:44 PM Aug, 1:30 in the afternoon? Well it's a 4-5 hour drive from there, and the Friday
night meal is going to be killer, so if it where me I'd FF it and eat on the way :hm:
Bry, depends on what time we are going up? and what time coming back? The
normal waite at Lambert's is 30min+. The prices are in the $7-$17 range for all
most all of the menu. Everything is all u can eat but not advertised. The whole
experiance takes at least 1-2 hours. I was shooting for the way back? But I'm
not picky when it comes to food. The more the merrier, just let me know when.
nobody's answering my question-Hey Driver, are we stopping at Lamberts?
maybe craig should stop at a couple of places before he gets here to eat.......lol
I'll do you guys a favor, I'm slow but I'll play rodeo clown Friday night when we go to Boss's brother's place. I'll distract him with a rib and run. I know this is asking a lot but if there is anybody else out there that is faster then me that wants to do this please volunteer. If not I will sacrifice myself, and probably my arm, for the entire board.
bw4sale 06-01-2007, 03:42 PM I may be looking for someone to pick up a pair of doors for me while they are at the board meet. I've got the doors lined up. I just need someone to bring them back to within an hour or so of Nashville. I can help out on gas a little or trade for some parts. I'm still trying to find someone who can get them there from Washington, too. PM me if you are interested.
LUV2XCLR8 06-01-2007, 04:08 PM I'll distract him with a rib and run.
:haha:
You better have your arms full of Ribs to get me after ya :metal:
All that one will do is allow me to pick my teeth :sexy:
:baa:
Friday night when we go to Boss's brother's place.

LUV2XCLR8 06-01-2007, 04:44 PM  He doesn't want his place full of rednecks eh? :sexy:
His place just hold 55 and we are hoping for way more then that :)
LUV2XCLR8 06-01-2007, 07:23 PM WOW, more than 55 on Friday night?, I'm ready to party now :hot:
Ron 586 06-01-2007, 08:15 PM Boss, How are you looking as far as tables and chairs. I'm bringing 4 2' X 4' tables and can bring a card table and chairs too. If needed I might could scare up a 10' or two. Just let me know.
I'm thinking about bringing my little orange toy as my walking ability is not up to snuff. That is subject to your approval of course.
If you think of anything else let me know.
Ron i have a line on some chairs but not sure exactly how many yet.I am sure we will use all we can gather up though :) And you are more then welcome to bring the new toy also bud :)
LUV2XCLR8 06-01-2007, 09:41 PM I'm bringing 4 bag chairs ;)
augie 06-01-2007, 10:07 PM Sorry bw4sale I'm travelling light, and i'm not sure they'll fit in the overhead compartment. I think bskylerj is going and he's from these parts.
Ron 586 06-01-2007, 11:04 PM Ron i have a line on some chairs but not sure exactly how many yet.I am sure we will use all we can gather up though :) And you are more then welcome to bring the new toy also bud :)
I'll bring as much as I have room for. May just bring the enclosed so I can bring everything. Will decide when we get closer to date and know a little more. Thanks.
Bring the enclosure Ron, that'll be my house for the weekend :)
Pickles 06-02-2007, 09:25 PM I'm bring 4 picnic tables and I will try to get up some bag chairs too.
Ron 586 06-02-2007, 11:00 PM Where do you want to meet and what time Pickles. I am hoping that we can hook up with Luv and Yellow69 and Woody to run from Sikeston across to Norwood. I want to be to Boss's house by around noon so we can get unloaded and help with setup for the Friday night festivities. Whatcha think?
Pickles 06-03-2007, 10:55 PM Ron, I will let you know later,I don't have a clue right now.
LUV2XCLR8 06-04-2007, 03:01 PM I want to be to Boss's house by around noon
Not a issue for me, For us to be at Sikeston, which is apporximately 3 hours from
Boss's house, I would need to get there around 9am. Means leaving here at 7am. :thud:
Ron 586 06-04-2007, 05:50 PM You guys go ahead and make a plan that works for you and if I can join in I will.
I was hoping I could kick Roxanne out of the bed and sleep with you Thursday night :)
Ron 586 06-06-2007, 08:57 AM I may be looking for someone to pick up a pair of doors for me while they are at the board meet. I've got the doors lined up. I just need someone to bring them back to within an hour or so of Nashville. I can help out on gas a little or trade for some parts. I'm still trying to find someone who can get them there from Washington, too. PM me if you are interested.
If you can get them to the meet I can get them to my place which is 110 miles west of Nashville. I will be having a cookout at my place 2 weeks after the national meet so you could pick them up then or maybe somebody attending might could get them closer. Just let me know if I can be of any help to you.
Ron 586 06-06-2007, 09:25 AM To all my fellow Tennessee gang. I will be taking my 24' enclosed trailer to the meet. once there if everything goes to plan the stuff inside will be put to use leaving the trailer empty. That means there will be about 22' of floor space that is up off the ground and dry with a roof that can be used for cots, air mattresses, and sleeping bags free for the asking. So far Yellow69 has put his name on a spot so room is still available. BTW as long as we keep gas in the generator the electric fan works. Will see everyone up there in Norwood Mo. July 6.
So far Yellow69 has put his name on a spot so room is still available
Not sure there is room left, I'm an active sleeper :)
Ron 586 06-06-2007, 01:11 PM Not sure there is room left, I'm an active sleeper :)
I'll leave that up to you and anybody that is seeking shelter. I plan to be in a room at the days inn about 9 miles away.
Mudder 06-06-2007, 06:52 PM Wonder if I could tag along? You guys are making this sound fun......:)
Everything we do here in TN is fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LUV2XCLR8 06-06-2007, 09:02 PM :agree:
Ron 586 06-06-2007, 10:46 PM If it were not for the got to have a shower every day I would be sleeping in the trailer and having a ball. But after the Tn. crew is taken care of then the rest is up for grabs. So Mudder it's your call.
woodridge 06-11-2007, 08:41 AM Looks like the "Rongmahall" is out for me. Debbie is not much on "ruffing" it especially when the aroma is gt&o. Getting ready to call and see what is available at the 3 local Inns. We will have room in the van for chairs and some other things so I will check the list and see what's needed.
Mudder 06-11-2007, 09:15 AM Good deal.
Ron 586 06-11-2007, 09:35 AM Great to have you along. Will be getting with you by PM about what we talked about. Ready or not here we come.
LUV2XCLR8 06-11-2007, 02:36 PM Now I wish I had got a room since Roxy's coming. She will be stoked
to hear that Deb's coming too. (So will Steve's wife Brandi also)
Edit: Got a room at the Days Inn, look out Norwood here I come :D
AND .....................................................................................
:( Looks like I'm NOT going to have use of my buddy's truck. The F-150
will probably be making the trip after all. Bryan this will knock you out. I
am not sure if Ron's full or not, but it looks as if your ride here is gone.
I'm sorry, but if I'm to bring "Merlot" this will be the only way to do it :(
I will find out more this week when I ask my buddy about his car trailer
:drama:
Ron 586 06-11-2007, 04:24 PM Bryan, It's closer to my house anyhow. You have a ride if you need it. Later
Ron 586 06-11-2007, 04:28 PM Luv, If you need my flatbed trailer you can take it.
LUV2XCLR8 06-11-2007, 04:57 PM I appreciate that Ron, and I may still have too, just seeing if the one 4 miles
down the road is available before I drive 140 miles up / back to get yours. ;)
Well, I don't know what to do. I was going to throw a wrench into the plans myself today, but somebody threw a bigger wrench. My in-laws bought a car hauler and said I could use it to pull my truck to MO if I wanted to. So I was going to offer to drive everybody and just bring the truck.
LUV2XCLR8 06-12-2007, 03:32 PM Well, I don't know what to do.
Trust me, I feel as bad as you do, 3 weeks to go and I have no clue either :(
Ron 586 06-12-2007, 10:40 PM Guys I say again, I will do what ever I can to try and help and get all the classic trucks to the meet that I can. Just make a plan and we will get it done. I am going to haul the Kobota and generators plus all the tables, chairs, and coolers so my little 1/2 ton is going to be humping to keep up.
You got room for the silver truck in that enclosed? J/K :)
LUV2XCLR8 06-13-2007, 04:01 PM Bryan, I think he could do it, he was going to carry "Merlot" ;)
Ron 586 06-14-2007, 06:51 AM Bryan, I think he could do it, he was going to carry "Merlot" ;)
But that was with you pulling my 16' flat trailer to haul my Kubota and all the other junk that was going. So yes I would haul the silver truck but He would have to haul the flat trailer which will probably be loaded heavier than his silver truck.
No problem Ron, I was just kidding around.
Ron 586 06-14-2007, 08:35 AM No problem Ron, I was just kidding around.
I knew that. I was just answering for the post that brought it up.
LUV2XCLR8 06-14-2007, 02:36 PM OIC, My bad
Ron 586 06-14-2007, 04:01 PM OIC, My bad
Oh no. No bad. Just misunderstanding. We have no bad in our bunch.
Ron, you've been around long enough to know that ALL there is in this bunch is bad :)
Ron 586 06-15-2007, 07:47 AM Don't try to confuse me, I'm an old man. Sometimes it's hard to keep up.
LUV2XCLR8 06-15-2007, 04:45 PM So if we are doing this together, what time do we meet in Sikeston?
:fb:
Ron 586 06-15-2007, 10:53 PM I'm looking at 8am at the latest. I want to be to Boss's by noon or close to it. I will have a 24' trailer to unload and get things set up and out. I understand that some will be there Thursday and we need to have at least basic services in place by around noon. That's my take on it. I'm open to suggestions.
LUV2XCLR8 06-15-2007, 11:08 PM I'm looking at 8am at the latest.
at Sikeston? that would put you at his house around 11ish ;)
Ron 586 06-15-2007, 11:18 PM I want to make sure we are on the same page. We get to Sikeston around 8 am and then we use an hour or two eating breakfast. Then what time will we get to Bosses place.
LUV2XCLR8 06-16-2007, 06:05 AM hmmmmmmmm, where would you eat breakfast at? Nuthing really there
except for the famous Lambert's which is open 4 lunch and dinner only.
I'm not a breakfast person, I was gonna just meet up and keep moving.
Ron 586 06-16-2007, 10:52 AM Meet at 8 am and leave. Works for me. (Really meet at 6 am and leave but I know I can never get that to fly.) So 8 am and run, any suggestions.
LUV2XCLR8 06-16-2007, 06:39 PM I can tenatively do that, but I thought you were going up Thursday?
Are you still undeceided? I just don't wanna get up so early that I'm
sleepy that night when everyone is hanging out into the wee hours.
Ron 586 06-17-2007, 02:39 PM No more changes. I am going to meet up with whoever will meet me in Sikeston on Friday morning by 8 am. I have PMed yellow69 and told him he is welcome to ride with me if he is not going to take his truck. I hope this puts an end to the confusion of when I'm leaving. Bryan I will have room for the parts that you wanted welded since I'm taking the big trailer.
LUV2XCLR8 06-18-2007, 07:10 PM Hopefully I am there at 8am, but if you don't hear from me (I will call
you on your cell if I am close) just keep on trucking down the road.
Ron 586 06-18-2007, 11:34 PM I'm sure we will be talking between now and then. I am not doing as well getting this stuff together as I had hoped to. Tomorrow I have to take Mom Ruel to the doctors office so will waste most of the day. It has been so stinking hot that I couldn't do a whole lot. I will make sure and honor my commitments as far as equipment and tools go. Will catch you later.
Ron 586 06-24-2007, 08:54 AM I'm not sure of how many of the Tennessee crew will be driving but we will be there in numbers anyway by carpooling. If there is anyone in Tennessee that's not going because of transportation please post up and we'll try to get something worked out for you. We'll see you in Norword Mo. July 6-8 2007, good Lord's willing and the creeks don't rise.
LUV2XCLR8 06-27-2007, 04:46 PM I'm sure we will be talking between now and then.
Yeppers, will c u Saturday evening, or Sunday am depending on how Good Guys show goes ;)
we are going to have push back the meet at Sikeston till about 9:00. I'm going to be riding with Ron, but won't be at his house til 6-6:30 on Fri morning. So that puts us in Sikeston at about 8:30-9.
LUV2XCLR8 06-27-2007, 05:20 PM 9am is perfect, and what I actually wanted anyways, I'll see you there ;)
