It appears that alot of people are wanting to overhaul my truck at the meet. What we need is someone that can take charge of it and maybe run things and put it together ya know?So i guess i need a cordinator to take control if anyone is up to it just let me know and thanx all :)Or do you all think it is a bad idea and should jst tell them no?

I would absolutely love to do this for you Boss, but right now I can't even gaurantee that I will be there. I think it's a great idea though, and will help however I can. We will need a list of what needs to be done, what parts, etc. are needed, your vision of the finished product, and pics would be a big help just for starters. Hopefully we can assign a "foreman" with related experience for each project, give him a good crew, and coordinate them so everybody won't be bumping heads. Most of my experience is with bodywork, painting, engines, and general mechanicals, but I'll take a backseat to any trans or 4x4 work that is needed. Give us the needed pics and info here, and we'll get the ball rolling.

All that was talked about when I was present was to fix the transmission and get it to where you can drive it. If there is anything else I haven't heard anything about it. Of course there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes that I never hear of. If we are going to do a full scale rebuild it's going to take more than a 3 day weekend.

Ok, I cornered BOSS in the chat room and made him talk, lol, and got some pics. He's got a '72 Cheyenne 4x4 that needs a few things. Robb is bringing him a trans, and I think we can handle that. It also needs some bodywork, a rear bumper, and if we can pull it off, maybe a paint job. What do yall think? I was going to post on the GD area, but wanted your feedback first. :fb:

You're probably right, and some people may only be there for one day also, but we can always throw the idea out there, see how many are interested, and go from there. It would be fun to me.

I'm all for doing as much as we can to get Boss truck up and going. I just don't want to take the truck apart and run out of time to get it back in one piece. If we have the man power go for it.

I dont think they are wanting to take anything apart ron just after the tranny maybe some body work while it is still together :)

I have voiced my concerns and they have been heard. I have nothing else to say on the truck rebuild subject. Good luck

funny thing is, i was told this was an idea being done as a surprise... guess not. I think you will have a bunch of people playing with your truck like it or not James. It should be fun for those involved as long as like Ron said, it isnt left for you in pieces.

Sorry guys, I'm at least partially to blame for letting this cat out of the bag. I started the thread on the General discussion board, but after I was informed that this was going to be a surprise for Boss, it was quickly deleted. I've been trying to cover my tracks, but it's hard when the tracker is an admin.

Just my opinion, but I say we get the 4x4 running and dependable and start on his 67 SWB.

Hey Boss, how big is your compressor? Dual stage? Will it handle air sanders?

cory, I'll be bringing 2 DA sanders... no need for the electric one. i also have an air powered long board I'll bring. I 'might' have a little paper left over for these tools, but if anyone else has some, please bring some.
