View Full Version : Enough is enough
Ron 586 07-02-2007, 12:28 AM This is one of the hardest things I have had to do. I will not be able to attend the board meet in Mo. I have tried to deal with my medical problems and make it but it is not possiable. I will be going to the V.A. hospital first thing in the morning. I don't know if they will admit me or not but I've got to get this fluid buildup in my feet and legs under control. Yesterday evening the left foot started splitting and leaking and today the right foot followed suit. As a diabetic I can't take a chance of infection because that is what gets a lot of people. This is a big disappointment for me and a let down to the board because of the items I was going to bring. Please remember me in prayer as I surely need it. I will post and update this when I get back home.
Longhorn Man 07-02-2007, 12:32 AM Ron, take care of yourself, there will be other meets, this is nothing compaired to what you just described.
You'll be missed, but everyone would prefer it this way. Take care of yourself bud.
bobbo 07-02-2007, 06:46 AM Do what needs to be done to get your health back in shape. My wife is diabetic as well so I understand the importance and concern of the problems you are having. Keep your head up and know our prayers are with you. We'll see you at the next one.
Ron you just need to get yourself better sir we can meet at another time and your health is first my friend :)
woodridge 07-02-2007, 07:24 AM Ron, Do take care of yourself. We will miss you not being there but wouid rather not have you at one meet than cause yourself more med problems. Keep me up to date on what's happening.
Phuloi68 07-02-2007, 08:09 AM Ron, good thing you are taking care of what you have too. It's nothing to mess around with.
Still don't know for sure if I can make it to the meet, it will be a last minute thing if I do.
I have looked over all the posts, and unless I overlooked it, I don't see exact directions or an address so I can use mapquest.
I have seen Norwood and the zip, directions to the motel, but not to Boss's place.
Can some one post it or provide a link?
:flagw:
redneckgirl 07-02-2007, 10:24 AM Ron....I'll miss not meeting you face to face, but I'm glad you're putting your health first. Please take care of yourself....keep us posted.
You're in my thoughts and prayers sir.

Take care of yourself first. We'll catch you the next go around.
Ron I know you are upset about not going. As we have talked about in the past YOU come first. Take care of yourself and we will be happy. I am so sorry this has gotten worse, and you have all this going on now.. but please just work on getting yourself feeling better. There will be plenty of get togethers and plenty of visits to come.
I'll miss ya darlin, but I feel better knowing you are taking care of yourself and not pushing it.
We love you and you will be in our thoughts and prayers
Take care of yourself man, there are plenty more opportunities to have board meets coming up. I'm sure we'll do this all over again next year, plus your get together if your still able to do it and there is always maggie valley!
augie 07-02-2007, 11:15 AM Ron I will echo what everyone else is saying...your health is the most important. There will be other meets and other opportunities to visit, you just take care of yourself. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

BACKYARD88 07-02-2007, 12:30 PM It's a shame to not be able to meet you but there will be other chances I'm sure. Get yourself better first and worry about everything else afterword. We'll pray for you.
LUV2XCLR8 07-02-2007, 02:35 PM Just found out about this on my way home from work. Thoughts and Prayers
to a speedy recovery. We will all miss you, you are definitely one of a kind
There will be other meet & greets, hopefully we can still go forward in a few
weeks with yours as scheduled and be able to put a smile on your face then.
If not I promise to let you burnout towards me in the future for kicks. Cya ;)
Ron 586 07-02-2007, 07:11 PM I'm back at home after a long frustrating long day. I will have to wear these constricting bandages for a week. They start at my toes and go to my knees. I have to sleep with my feet and legs at above heart level and as much of the daytime too as I can. The doctors that I saw today did all they could to address the problem at hand. What bothered me is that I could not get any of them to talk about the results from the tests run last Thursday. The only one that can talk about those is my primary care doctor. I have a heart stress test a week from Friday and won't see my primary care doctor until the 24th of July. To put a good spin on this is that it will be after my cookout on the July 21st which is going on as planned. It is going to be catered so no need to worry about it. Thanks for all the posts with well wishes and concern. I will answer all the PM's as soon as I can but must follow doctors orders and get my feet up. Will check in later.
LUV2XCLR8 07-02-2007, 09:19 PM Good to hear, I think. Continued thoughts and prayers for ya buddy ;)
Longhorn Man 07-02-2007, 09:24 PM Ron, thanks for checkin in... can't speak for the others, but I was thinkin bout ya.
Total pisser we won't meet, but, again, your health is a little more important than a bunch of truck friends.
BACKYARD88 07-02-2007, 09:25 PM Thanks for the update Ron. Keep your head up and it'll get better. We'll keep you in thoughts and prayers.
Well, Ron I was looking forward to listening to Van Halen and the Crue on the way over with you. I just got in and read your PM's I'll give you a call in a few.
Tycoon4u 07-02-2007, 10:32 PM Sorry to hear about this Ron, good luck, take care of yourself. Now I'll have to come by and meet you when I'm trucking by sometime. If I'm lucky it will be when you have your get together.
woodridge 07-02-2007, 10:53 PM Thanks for the update Ron, I have shared with several your ordeal and you are in their prayers also. Give me a call tomorrow and we'll talk.
Your Friend.
Pickles 07-02-2007, 11:02 PM well dang, I'm sorry to hear this Ron, but please take care of yourself and if I can do anything for you or your family let me know.
Get you a laptop, then you can have your feet up and be online.
GMCjunkie 07-02-2007, 11:36 PM You and everyone is right, there will be lots of other chances of meets and people, theres only ONE YOU, and thats irreplaceable.
Take care darlin
Ron 586 07-03-2007, 08:08 AM Thanks again for all the kind words, thoughts, and prayers. I made it through the first night of this so only 6 more to go. I don't know what is going on behind these bandages but I wish it would calm down a bit. I don't know which is worse the pain in my left big toe or the burning itch in my feet and legs. Guess I better get back in my chair and prop my feet up. Later
woodridge 07-03-2007, 08:36 AM Did the Dr.'s give you a list of side effects? You might want to give them a call to verify if this is normal. Could the presure bandages be to tight? Sounds like maybe restricted circulation.
RACINJASON22 07-03-2007, 05:26 PM I have not had a chance to read you post until now Ron, I do feel very bad that I will not get to meet you. But as all the others have stated, I also agree that your health is much more important. There will be other chances to get together.
Best wishes and prayers go to you and yours RJ22...:)
sdkid 07-03-2007, 05:46 PM Take care. My father in law was diabetic. I know very well, the concerns you have about foot infections. We are thinking of you in SD.
ron, im sorry i missed your call tonight.. we were in transit to Robbs. I wasnt sure if it would be to late to call, so I didnt want to disturb you this evening. I will give you a call once we get on the road tomorrow.
get those feet up and ill see ya in 3 weeks or so
LUV2XCLR8 07-09-2007, 07:02 PM I missed you there buddy, hope to see you in a few weeks at yours. It just
was a lil bit different without you there telling stories and hanging out with
the rest of us. Hope you are feeling better, we need the life of the party to
get back on his feet before we show up over at your place to do it all again.
Ron 586 07-09-2007, 09:48 PM Thanks Craig, I can't find words to express my disappointment about missing the meet. But it is past, done, and over with. But in two short weeks I don't have to go to it, it will come to me. I spent the day in Nashville today for some tweaking and have 5 appointments next Friday for some more tests. It's working but just takes time. I'm feeling better but don't want to rush anything so I'm listening and behaving. See you in a couple weeks.
woodridge 07-09-2007, 10:39 PM Listening and behaving can be the hardest part. Keep at it Ron, see you in 2.
BACKYARD88 07-09-2007, 10:54 PM Glad to hear you're making progress Ron. Good luck with your meet. Looking forword to meeting you next time.
