dave3156 07-09-2007, 09:29 AM Make it 60 at least. I was there with my two sons, my 12 year old had a blast. It was his first swap meet and told everyone when they walked up that " Everything is cheap" He was telling all his buddies about it on the phone after we got home. I drove my blue 70 stepside from Collinsville, IL. It was definetly worth the trip.
And a GOOD TIME was had by all! Even with all the mechanical adventures that were thrown in!:)
You got that hood bolted on there yet?
LUV2XCLR8 07-09-2007, 02:40 PM Make it 60 at least.

RJ22...:)
72ironmike 07-09-2007, 09:59 PM Luv2, I thought I was from Missouri but just grew up there. I live just across State Line in Kansas now.
72ironmike - Mike - KS Thanks for everything everybody. My trip was
also cut short by some family matters. Already starting to plan a
longer stay next year.
Many Thanks and Muchas Gracias to the Centsless Family for transporting a short bedside to the meet for me in climate controlled storage. I can't say enough about Bob's board support & help.
cory321 07-09-2007, 10:00 PM Glad to hear you made it.When did you leave MO?
72ironmike 07-09-2007, 10:04 PM Moved about ten miles south and west across state line about 23 years ago. It really feels like I never left Missouri since I still go everywhere around the same area I always have.
redneckgirl 07-10-2007, 12:12 AM Many Thanks and Muchas Gracias to the Centsless Family for transporting a short bedside to the meet for me in climate controlled storage. I can't say enough about Bob's board support & help.
You're quite welcome...We were glad to help!!! I was a little nervous with the kids being around it....kept it wrapped in that comforter the whole way! I was afraid one of them would put a dent in it
woodridge 07-10-2007, 12:15 AM Dave, I remember meeting you also, but my memory was fading after 50
Craig, I could swear you were just in your 30's.

AH619 07-11-2007, 01:55 PM Did Everyone Get Eat Up By Chiggers Or Was I Just Lucky?
Mudder 07-11-2007, 02:09 PM I came out ok. One tick but he hadn't bitten me yet. :)
I got a little poison ivy, caught two tics before they bit, other than that I'm good.
LUV2XCLR8 07-11-2007, 03:18 PM Tic's were bad, but the weekend was good :D
Putter 07-11-2007, 04:13 PM That'd make a good country song.....oh wait....
I'd like to check you for ticks!
Longhorn Man 07-11-2007, 04:17 PM i found 2 ticks walkin on me, then found a third with his head burried after getting home. he was dead, yet amazingly, i htink his head came out when i pulled on him.
Guess I'll find out soon enough if it did huh?
RACINJASON22 07-11-2007, 04:27 PM Two ticks while I was there both already in but I heated them out.
Now on the Chigger thing I don't know what they are but, I think thats what I have!!!!!!!!! Only were my socks and shoes are. Anyone else have these little bumps. AND what do you do about them???????????
RJ22...:(
HuggerCST 07-11-2007, 04:48 PM :D Two ticks while I was there both already in but I heated them out.

RJ22...:(
I got plenty of both, but I'm not complaining.;) For the chiggers, they say taking a bath in some bleach water will get rid of them. Or you can just wait a few days. The itching will slowly go away.
woodridge 07-11-2007, 05:13 PM Only one tick that I didn't find until monday. Bunch of chiggers, just have to wait it out.
Longhorn Man 07-11-2007, 06:20 PM as a kid, I was always told to put clear fingernail polish over the chigger bumps. Stops you from scratchin yourself raw, and supposed to kill them faster.
I dunno how acurate it is, I was just a dumb 8 year old covered in clear fingernail polish.
RACINJASON22 07-11-2007, 07:57 PM Cool they already seem to be not itching...I never had anything like this so I was just wondering.
RJ22...;)
cory321 07-11-2007, 09:44 PM I have the same thing i thought it was poison ivy
CiCi got bit by a tick and ate up by chiggers, the rest of us were fine.
cory321 07-11-2007, 09:58 PM Im just glad it isnt poison ivy again
Sammy 07-11-2007, 10:31 PM I was informed as soon as we arrived about the ticks/ chiggers. Myself & Fire dog. I immediately used the 49% deet (deep woods) & I didn't get bit by any insects. Firedog didn't spray himself as well as I did he received a few hitchhikers of the chigger type.
Thats probably why we were ok and cic got attacked. We sprayed with the stuff, the kids did too, but they were in and out of the pools all day.
bobbo 07-11-2007, 10:58 PM I used some deet and my legs got munched up badly by chiggers...Maybe I should have used more...Maybe they just like some flavors of skin more than others...Maybe...:thud:
LonghornJeff 07-12-2007, 12:23 AM i used deepwoods type all weekend and when i was working under
the jimmy i put down plastic drop cloth.. I got a few moskito bites
but not to bad..:metal:
cory321 07-12-2007, 08:03 PM I never had chigger bites before so i just assumed i had poison ivy but now their going away
that would be the downside to having it in the country :( sorry guys we tried to spray what we could to get rid of them.
Phuloi68 07-12-2007, 11:11 PM that would be the downside to having it in the country :( sorry guys we tried to spray what we could to get rid of them.
Minor issue. It was still a great time in a great setting.:cong:
LUV2XCLR8 07-13-2007, 06:08 PM Just got through updating my personal list, I'm up to 110 Members now
that I have met in these 3 short years on the Board. Glad to have met
all of those I did & wish I had met the few I missed. Maybe next year?
augie 07-13-2007, 07:02 PM Wow I'm really amazed that this northern boy escaped unscathed (as far as I know). No ticks or chiggers as far as I could discern, even had the wife look me over when i got home, since we really don't have much of either up here. I caught one tick during the weekend making his way up my sock, but that was about it.
Longhorn Man 07-13-2007, 07:59 PM I had bug spray, but figured I was doin ok after the first two evenings.
I think that's when they attacked me once I got comfortable.
That's the drawback to livin in the country, but you'd have never pulled off a party like that in town.
Phuloi68 07-13-2007, 09:15 PM Must be something in the water. This northern boy didn't have any tick or chigger bites either. No spray. Course, as much as I was sweating, I wouldn't bite me, either.
LUV2XCLR8 07-16-2007, 02:26 PM Updated 7/16
If I am missing your name PM me ;)
Thanks,
Luv
bigdon-70blazer 08-29-2007, 01:30 PM I was the other guy that attended on Sunday morning wishing I was able to attend on Saturday! bigdon-70blazer from Poplar Bluff, MO.
