Here is a poll to get a general idea of where we should meet next year. We all have our own thoughts on this, and it will all boil down to who wants to do the work. If I am in charge of the meet, it will be in Maryland, If longhornman does it, it will be in Ohio, etc. This is just a tool to see where the most interest would be. Here goes....

You can chose more than one option. Pick all areas that you would consider attending.

definitly north central, everything seems so far away from me and i never get the time off work to actually enjoy going to anything, so my vote is NC, pref. Iowa

There are way more Americans on the board. My opinion is there is less of us to travel south.Maybe get a bunch of us to travel together on the way to it?

*****please nobody take that the wrong way.I was just thinking it would be way cheaper if 10 of us canadians went south then 70 americans came north

gotta add all the little things too.Passports, flights, gas car rentals and the time for everyone to travel to it and have enough time off work to enjoy thems selfs and make it back home too

I'll hook you guys up with some soft sand to pitch your tents on?! No, 115 isn't that hot, it's a dry heat!! I can hook up the wheelers with some AZ stuff that'll make Moab seem tame!! I'd like to meet more folks, but MO is a long ways away!! If not southwest at least something more central, that way I can hook you easterners up with some rust free metal!!

Mickey_D

I'll put in a plug for Minnesota as well. Plus I guess I'm a prime candidate for hosting it. I've got 10 acres in the middle of a bunch of farms, I'm only 3.6 miles from the 7 Clans Casino (which has a water park and hotel), and I'm rather centrally located for a lot of people. Winnepeg is only 75 miles north of me, all the PNW members would just come straight along US2, Y'all easterners would just come out along I-80, same with Cali folks. Everyone from Texas would just need to come straight up I-35 to I-29.

We can make all the noise we wanted out here. I've got 110V outside and 220V in the garage. My dogs get on well with anyone and anything.

And considering my lawn is all just mowed prairie grass, if we tear it all up, no biggie!!

Plus if we arrange it for the weekend before or afterwards, you're not too far from Sturgis for the bike week out there.

I am sure it's too late but how many have we had and where have they been?

Some discussion would be nice. How many attended? What type of activities did we have? Tour/Cruise/Awards banquet? How many days? Motel facilities? Camping?

Some of this info would be a big help in determining wheter I would attend or not.

Thanks - Bob

I voted... but to be more specific...
North-Central - Minneapolis or Denver
South Central - Dallas
North-West - Seattle or Portland
South-West - Phoenix or Las Vegas
Also, Any of these Meets should be planned around a Good-Guys or Car-Craft nationals (minneaoplis) or some other Big Event, Good guys are great events because you have Friday/Saturday nights to yourself (to meet at the board event location w/members).
I would selfishly like to see a NATIONAL MEET here in the Black Hills, but you couldn't afford a room anywhere near here during the Sturgis Bike Week (first week of August)

My opinion.............. Having the meet at a larger event vs a meet at a park or someones place. The laid back simple meet is for me. The larger events like the one at Indy was ok but people were so scattered out both days there was really no getting to know one another. The meet at James was different in that everyone was there visiting with each other. And another note about the bigger events. If you plan on entering the event don't plan or expect to see that many from the meet. I was about a mile away from everyone at Indy.

Just something to think about.

I have said the same thing. If it's just to get together in one place, have it at some event. If it's to relax and get to know board members, have it at someone's place like this last one.
I was at Indy and hardly saw or talked to anyone. This last one at Boss's, was very laid back and enjoyable. Was able to talk to most everyone some.
Sure looked like everyone was having a nice time too.

My votes in, I may be from the North East but, I say keep it close to the middle of the country.

That way the most can atleast try to make it.

It really is worth the drive. I will be there one way or another.

If it's farther than this years I'm flying.

Andy do you need me to fly out to Ohio so we can rollin to the next one together again

Folks, just wanted to share what we were kicking around on the Nortwest board. Thinking maybe the national event is every other year, interspersed with regional events - just an idea.

Personally I think having it @ a KOA camp ground is the best idea. Several folks bring campers and tents and such. This would prevent the extra effort to insure that water, porta potties, and such. The extra effort required to clear enough property too. It would cost folks camping there a reasonable fee and I would think a KOA would offer a discount with advance notification. Then the other 40% who perfer motel could be close by too. My vote says IL, KY, or Tn. Or how about the same weekend one on the east coast, west, & central at the same time. If there would be enough folks willing to attend??

I figure, by the time we figure it out, it'll be year after next anyhow! And that's OK! Maybe a few regional meets next year, then Nationals, like Billa suggested. Cool.
I'd love something in Arizona. We keep getting invited out there, seems to me, I need to go there (either Fall or Spring). I'm thinking middle of Summer would be a little tough in Arizona!
I've done the organizing on a couple of small local cruises. Just the logistics on something like that can be time consuming. I really appreciate what went into the National meet we just had. I'd suggest that everybody here organize some kind of small local gathering, cruise, or show. There may be a bunch of locals that would be interested and they're just waiting for someone(else) to put it together! It'll give you a good idea of what's involved as well as maybe meet some new local folks that are interested in motorized vehicles (bikes, cars, trucks, racing garden tractors!). The less informal the better. That way, guys with daily drivers aren't as intimidated by really nice trucks, cars or whatever. "Keep on Cruisin'"!

Maybe having a laid back meet like at Boss's near a National event for those who wanted to attend. That way those who wanted to do the event could and the rest could just hang.I think the logistics of a National meet could be overwhelming but if handled well it could be done without killing anyone. You just need a chairperson and have them delegate.Someone in charge of space for different things, someone in charge of group meals (or one person per meal) you get the idea.We did this alot when working with BS Troops.I think the Tn guys deserve some credit fo always doing their part to have and participate in the meets. They travel, they sponsor their own and they stay active on the BB and in the hobby. They have the same things the rest of us do too.You know Families, wives, jobs, and other commitments, they just don't let it stop them from doing truck meets.Almost all their meets are family friendly.I can't remember a meet with them that didn't include a parking lot mod.
With that said I think there should be a national meet every spring and fall.Eastern/western,North/south("nuther Civil War there) or something along those lines. The more often we do it the better our formula for the "stuff" will be and the easier it will be to do.
These are just thought I had from looking thru the posts and from the meets I've been lucky enough to attend.
