Check out my blog, I have a section on how I did it. If you have any other questions feel free to shoot them my way. Direct Link to the Lead Filling Section of my Blog (http://vix65chevyc10.blogspot.com/2005/10/mouldingtrim-removal-hole-filling.html) LONGHAIR 07-29-2007, 12:58 PM I have done it many times, but I would say that it is really not the best way to tackle the problem that you have. Your best bet is to straighten the area as much as possible and then weld the holes. They can't be very big, so a quick hit with a mig should fill them. Yes there is a warpage issue with welding, but it's not that bad with small tacks like this. Leading is a much more involved process...also requiring heat. You still need to do the metalwork, the body should be as straight as possible before any filling...lead or plastic. 69swbman 07-29-2007, 05:28 PM thanks guys ill give it a try salazar44 07-30-2007, 01:51 AM I agree with longhair. Lead will definately not fill areas well like plastic filler can. But if you have your body straight and just want to fill the holes, then lead is the second best option to welding them in. I myself dont have a welder and didnt want to pay $7 per hole to get filled. There are lots of body moulding holes on my truck! It added up quickly. |
