Prob about 100+ vehicles there...all 72 and older. If anyone would like to get together, please let me know...I would like to org something. I would love to BBQ at my place sometime then go crusie in the trucks! Convoy it up or something. :metal:

Mt.Airy,we have Jimmy Cone 1st and 3rd Saturdays. It`s a pretty decent one, too.I`d go down to Glen Burnout to check it out. Then,to Brewster`s for a crab cake and a few chillies.A cookout or crab feast sounds great. There have been several attempts with no success. What does it take to get a bunch of Old Line Free State Fuddy Duddies together? We have a few around Balto. that could hit Glen Burnie or Odenton real easy, too. What ever happened to the cruise-in in Odenton? That was the first one I ever knew of.I cruised my`63 Riviera and`71 Blazer down a few times back in the`80s.

Tim- Jimmy Cone's has gone down hill over the last few years. I have only been out there a few times but the really nice one is in Eldersburg at Home Depot. I've only been there a few times but at least there's no ricey crap there.
Jay- there was at least 300 there:metal: I'm going to try to get down there again but it depends on what's going on at home. We're closing our pool this weekend and that's a process:rolleyes: . The following weekend I might go to Lowes in Abingdon on Friday night and OR Glen Burnie OR Fullerton on Saturday night. I have a wheel cylinder that's blown out and getting worse so I have to limit my distance and take it easy until I replace it. My wife is finally getting interested in going to the cruises with me!

Once the wife pops out the baby...she will be going. She loves it. There is a truck/car show Oct 21 in Downs Park close to GLen burine. I would love it if we could all go and make a presence (for 67-72 trucks) at the show. Maybe we could all get together and do this. (not all trucks have to enter the show...just get there to hang out would be great)

You`ve been out and didn`t contact me?.I thought there were some real good cars at Jimmy Cone last weekend.Like some nostalgic drag/street cars. It`s all locals and the cars are still around. Not every night`s the same.It takes the good stuff to go to make it good.I hope I never get too jaded to not want to check out cool cars.Is there a rating system I`m not aware of?Last time I went to Eldersburg it sucked,so...

Tim- I went once this year with a friend on a spur of the moment to H.D. in Eldersburg back in June. I don't get out that direction very often. I have been once or twice each summer for the last few summers. I haven't been to Jimmy Cone's for the last 2 or 3 summers because it's a hike for me. Don't be offended by my comment on Jimmy Cone's, I've seen super nice cars but there were alot of Cavaliers with stick on hood scoops too:lol: I really have nothing against it but I usually go to Belair, Fullerton or Glen Burnie when I go. I'm going to Glen Burnie this Saturday night with my truck (will be the first time cruising in it this summer:rolleyes: ) and hopefully Jcentsr6 will be there with his. Maybe Centless and 70GMCer could bring their trucks for a mini meet???. Can you make it? It goes from about 5-10 PM.

The Lowe's in Abingdon always seems to have a good turn out on Friday nights....so I hear...I always work Friday nights :whine: centsless says he's going out there on a Friday night soon....It's only 10 minutes away, but he has to get his Dad to take his 41 Chevy also so there's room for all the kids

On a good note....a lot of the guys that live up this way stop by & hang out at work on Friday nights after they leave Lowe's...:metal:

The Lowe's cruise is very nice but you have to get there around 6 if you want a parking space. You need to call in sick one night and go:lol: . I've been a few times without my truck.

Glen burnie..its worth the drive. The past weekends are getting crazy amount of people there....I guess its getting close to the end of summer! Last week I think I saw a few vipers, a pack of vettes, one lambo twin turbo and more old school vehicle than you can shake a stick at.

If I get my "stroker" to idle right, I just might take a ride down there. This would be the first time the truck has been to a cruse. 70c10 has been on my ass to get out and drive it.......we'll see.....

Sounds like you need to get on his:cool:.I`m not offended about the Jimmy Cone thing.I went once last year with jc,VT Blazer, and Panhandler from my house and hadn`t been in a couple years before that.I must say,I`d rather see cavaliers than all that sports car crap...Lambos???They have no place slummin`at cruise nights,IMO.
I`d just like us all to get together with our down-to-earth trucks. That`s what I`m all about.Maybe I`ll putt on down to Glen Burnout Sat.

What do you say guys? .....Okay great!! See you guys then. lol
We should really get together. I would try to save some parking spaces...but the past weekend there were so many cars I had a hard time gettin a spot of my own! Alot of trucks show up...but no one has ever heard of this wonderful site. I give everyone the site addy...I sure hope they check it out. Also I just found out someone who I deal with at work alot has multiple trucks..I am going to call him friday and see if I can get him to bring his 55 chevy truck. (badass)

I'd like to get there at 5 o'clock to make sure we get spaces next to each other in a row, I'm going to try to talk my dad into bringing his 70' also. Maybe we'll have four 70 LWB's lined up in a row since Centless won't be able to attend unless Tim brings one of his trucks too then we'll have five!

I am going to bring some chairs to set in some spots untill everyone can get there...but fair warning---I got there at 5:45 (15 mins prior to the official start time) and had to drive around twice to get a spot. Ill meet you there asap...lets try to get a head count by fri night or early sat....so we can plan it out. Also here is my cell # 443-871-4073 if anyone needs any info.

Jay- I can be there as early as need be. I really want to get all our spots side by side. I can be there at 4 if that's better. I still haven't checked with my dad for confirmation on his truck and 70GMCer is tweaking his idle issue so he's up in the air for now. Right now it's you and me:lol: . My wife "might" be coming with me also. I haven't cleaned my truck up since last summer:o. Hopefully the weather holds up!:metal:

Sounds good Jay. Sounds like 70GMCer and his wife "might" be coming. Keepin' my fingers crossed on the rain tomorrow!. I'll be taking it easy on the ride because I just saw something weird tonight with the tread on my front tires. Since the disc brake conversion I haven't had it aligned yet.

I have a job to look at in Severna Park.I set it up to look at it at 3:00.I`ll prolly roll down in my Highlander(blue/white 4wd).It`s hardly cruisin` smoothy, but folks like it,I guess:cool:.I`ll be looking for the familiar trucks.
One question:Where exactly is this???I have the impression it`s in the lot next to MVA.Am I way off?I`m not sure why I think it`s by MVA.

70c10
09-15-2007, 09:04 AM
It's on the same side as MVA but a red light or two South!. It's in the shopping center with Target, Salvo auto parts and Bennigan's Restaurant. I just found the address for Target online to be 6717 Ritchie Hwy so you could Mapquest it from where your Severna Park house is located.

Well....I headed down on my bike because I never had the chance to unload things in the bed and take the tarp off.I had a job to estimate in Severna Park at 3p,then was planning to meet-up at the cruise-in.I was on 695 and a guy got up next to me and was pointing at the rear of my bike.I had lost my tailight and tag.My ghost flame job is trashed,ARGH!!!I still went to look at the jb,but hurried the bike back home up the hiway.Sorry I missed it.I came around Rt10 and saw some nice cars that I figured were going there.

My airy had a first time show I kinda forgot about until I saw it yesterday. It`s called Motorama put on by United States Muscle Car Federation? www.musclecarfederation.com
The field was full, great turnout.Last night was Jimmy Cone night and I figured it`d be a good night.Man,there was one car sitting there around 8pm.I didn`t even roll through.
Catoctin amountain Street Rods has their Halloween Run at Mt.Airy in Oct.,I`ll have to get the date. It`s a good little rod run that was at the Frederick Fair Grounds.
