Being from South Texas, Tex-Mex is part of our weekly diet. If I want to go to some place special I love Zio's Italian food.

I thought I read "ethnic jokes".Hmmm...I guess we`re all getting along and eatin`each other`s food now.
Q:You know why Chinese eat so much rice?
A:It`s plentiful and noodles take more preparation?

Q:You know why Mexicans eat so many beans?
A:They are a great source of protein and othe essential vitamins and the can be dryed and stored.

Q:You know why Southerners use so much vinegar?
A:It tastes so good and no one told them different and Shrerman hated it.

Q:You know why....these aren`t funny?
A:I just wanna eat.

I can eat about any food. Right now I live in Austria, great food here. I have a phillipino house keeper that makes us dinner during the week, I can't wait till the weekend so I can cook some american or other dish.

grew up down south. i love southern food, soul food, creole cooking and texas BBQ b/c that's what i grew up eating (and some of the best of it) BUT ...

i just want to add that you left Ethiopian and Korean food off the list, both of which i reeeeaaally really like. (i know, i gotta be the pain in the ass of the bunch :D)

if you haven't tried both and you're open to trying something new, i highly recommend giving both a shot. ethiopian food is hands-on, you eat with a piece of bread that looks like a pancake, but tastes a thousand times better than your average flapjack. korean is nowhere near the same flavor group as vietnamese (lots of noodles and broths), thai/malay/indo (lots of coconut milk and curry) or chinese (lots of sauces using fish oil).

i marked everything above except italian. i appreciate good italian food, especially good italian pizza or a killer ravioli, but i am not a huge fan of pasta, so i ... i don't eat it that often. when i do, i rarely get something with noodles in it.

(i love food)

You're right shifty, I knew there were other choices but I haven't tried the ones you mentioned.I have noticed alot of people seem to really like Mexican and I do too but when you get to talking they generally mean Tex-Mex and i usually prefer Classic Mexican.
I'm up for trying most foods(I do draw the line at Bugs and grubs).I do like cajun and probably should have had it on the list. One thing i don't care for is crawfish,I have always wonddered what the first person who ever ate one was thinking."Hmmmm this muddy bug looks delish I think I'll just chomp on em"
I too love food but agree with the guy on the Kashi commercial,"This ain't it!!"

Now I`m hearing ethnic voices...
The first Crawfish eating human prolly watched a coon devour one then go lay down and sun his belly smacking his lips.
I`ve seen Ethiopian restaraunts but never tryed it.I can`t help but recall the huge phamon they had years ago and how jokes said the fastest animal in the world was an Ethiopian chicken.I keep thinking I`d still be hungry if I ate there.I`m serious,I`ve been conditioned by the media.

I love me some Mexican food!

It's not on the list, but Filipino food is also very good.

Shifty I tried Ethiopian and didn't really care for it, seemed like I was eating different varieties of baby food. I am with you on Korean food though, especially Korean BBQ.

I spent most of my child hood in arizona so mexican is at the top of the list.

After spending several years on my aunt and uncles farm in north eastern colorado(sterling) I do like,,,,not sure what it would be considered,,,, they both came from the minnisota/wisconsin area. What ever its considered its good eats.

I have tried some korean, japanese, chinese foods and they were ok but nothing over the top.

I used to have neighbors that moved here from italy so italian is high on the list aswell

Shifty, if you like Thai, and ever are back in Miami, try the lotus room (http://www.siamlotusroom.com/), it's between sunset and ludlam on us1...I always get their curry chicken and grub...(something or other)...that place is THE best Thai food I have ever eaten...nobody has even come close...
Maybe that one place in Downtown Wilmington, NC...funny name, Rim Wang...google helped me w/ that one. :)

shifty, i eat what you eat and more, all those cuisines are great.

even though im italian, i think my top three ethnicities are indian and carribean and spanish . nothing like tandori or curry chicken with some yellow Dal and a plate of fresh Nan (actually just had curry turkey from next door neighbor, kinda interesting). another one is some ox tail stew from "carribean sunshine bakery" here in the orlando area, with some sweet rice and a dumpling. or with some spanish food, some trece leches or flan, some empenadas, a good stewed dinner with some fresh yellow rice and some way long cooked black beans. if ya come to orlando, if ya go to old winter garden road right off of South OBT, like a half block in from that intersection in the little haiti market place, there is a place called havana cafe, $5 gets ya a meal to go, and you can get any fresh juice drink you want there too. its kinda sadening that i can tell ya where most every ethnic resteurant is in the greater orlando area. but hey, its all good food, sometimes americanized food gets boring

How about Jamaican jerk chicken?Mmmmmmmm....Hawaiians have some tastey food. It`s southern, yet all it`s own...Cajun.Ah-ee dat sum goood eatin`,I gar-aun-tee!I`ve eaten some Navajo meals that were great.
It`s funny.I live near a rural town and along the road on the other side of toen is this watering hole/restaraunt named Lou & Joes. It`s the local biker bar(er,Harley Buyers with an occasional biker,I should say),too. It`s Thai owned and they have the best Thai food.I tell people we have a reat Thai restaraunt in Mt.Airy and they always say,"Really??Where?"with this surprised tone."Lou`n`Joe`s",and I get a more surprised reaction.I love their Pad Thai(shrimp)and ask for it extra hot w/plenty of cilantro.I`ve had the "local girl" waitresses not know what I`m asking for when I pronounce it "pahd/pod"-Thai.Then,I`ll get,"Ohhh, you want Pad Thai?"Pronounced like writing "pad".:lol:They mostly serve crabs,burgers,steaks...good bar food.

There should have been one more option on the survey..."All of the Above" :)

I voted for each one, God bless America!

I'm still trying to figure out one thing.

Which is the main course, and which is the dessert: Mexican or Bar-B-Q?
