Thanks for the inquiry, however, I do not have any burb parts. You may try RJ at www.stovebolt.com. He specializes in '60-'66 Chevy Trucks and deals with a lot of suburban parts.

Sorry I couldn't help you and please keep me in mind for other 4-5-6 Chevy Truck parts in the future.

Tony,

What do you get for a 3 speed tranny? I have a '66 LWB with a column shift 3 speed and I-6. I am not sure which 6 I have as it is not the original. I am hoping to get the casting numbers from the block today.

LILRED66
10-21-2007, 08:19 PM
I have never sold a 3-speed column shift tranny. If it is in good shape and complete, I would think you could get $100.00 for it, if the right guy came along looking for a stocker.

I hope this helps.

LilRed66,

If I cannot find a replacement tranny locally pretty soon, I may come up to see you. I don't want to go through the expense of rebuilding mine, but I am not quite ready to do a lot of mods to go auto yet.

My ultimate plans are to swap in a 327 with either a TH400 or 700R4. I have a 327 that I can pick up for $100 from my brother and I found a TH400 in my mom's shed last week that she told me to haul off if I wanted to. The tranny belonged to an old racing buddy of my Stepdad's who has not been around for about 7 years. Heck, Dad passed away over 2 years ago. I don't know what kind of shape it is in, but knowing the guy who left it, it is in really good shape. Then again, I would like to have OD that a 700R4 would offer.

But, like I said, I am not at that stage yet, so these parts will be in storage, waiting to be brought to life.

It looks as if I may have found a tranny for my truck locally. I am going to check it out tonight. If for some reason this doesn't work out, I will be calling on you, LilRed66.

Am looking for 1964 Chevy fleetside front fenders, doors, front bumper, hood hinges, and passenger bed side. Also looking for front inner fenders. If you have a good parts truck for sale, how much for the whole thing? Or just the individual parts listed. Some pics please. I would come up and get the parts if the price is right. :) Thanks!

Since you are in Springfield, MO and my shop is in Kansas City, KS, you may want to make a trip up to the city and check out my parts inventory. I have all the parts you are seeking, however, due to the number of parts you are looking for, it may be better to see them in person, instead of trying the photo thing. Let me know your thoughts and I will proceed accordingly.

I have a dash that is out of the truck, that is in excellent condition, in red primer. It is $175.00.00, plus packaging & shipping. I also have a few that are not removed from the truck and will have to be removed and dismantled, including drilling out of all spot welds at the windshield. It is $175.00, plus packaging & shipping, due to the amount of labor to remove and dismantle it. Let me know your thoughts and I will proceed accordingly.

This is probably a silly question but is there a piece that attaches to the rear of this that actually directs the air to each vent? If there is do you have this piece also or maybe a pic of what it might look like?

Tim:

The factory AC setup for these trucks is rather extensive. There is a plastic plenum box, including the three dash control knobs and bezels, that backs up the AC dash diffuser, as well as, an underdash heater box diverter assembly, that is located under the dash, as well as a compressor, condenser, air dryer, brackets, hoses, hardware and wiring harness, that is required to make a factory system complete.

I have a complete assembly, if you are interested. Let me know your thoughts and I will proceed accordingly.

Tony,

What I'm planning is to go with an aftermarket AC (haven't decided which brand yet) but I want to use an original center diffuser for the "factory" look. I just don't like the way the aftermarket vents look. I guess I'm just trying to get a mental idea/picture of what it will take to make this happen and any additional parts that I may need besides the diffuser. Thanks for the quick responses and I will get back to you soon on the diffuser panel.

Thanks,
Tim

LILRED66

A good, used, rust-free hood shell is $200.00, plus $175.00 to crate and ship. Due to weight, size and bulk, shipping a hood is not very economical.

ron19:

I have several '64-'66 Chevy 12 bolt rearends, however I don't know if any of them are posi-traction. With the cost of shipping, it is not economical to ship, so you may be better off finding one locally. Sorry I couldn't help you, but please keep me in mind for other 4-5-6 Chevy Truck parts in the future.

ron19
02-14-2008, 09:19 PM
Actually, I wouldn't want the whole rearend, just the carrier with the posi unit. But that would involve a bit to pull the unit out and then ship. I understand if you don't want to go that far with it.

Thanks for all your advice, it does help.

There is a plastic plenum box, including the three dash control knobs and bezels, that backs up the AC dash diffuser

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner Tony. My next question is about the plenum box. Is it an assembly that includes the dash knobs or is it just a box that directs the air to the diffuser? Sorry for the simple question but I have never personally seen an original A/C setup and want to make sure I understand exactly how it is set up so I can purchase the right parts. Also, can you PM me a price on the plenum box. I definitely want the diffuser (if you still have it) and possibly the plenum box too. Thanks for being patient with my basic questions.

Thanks, Tim
