I don't know low@slow. I found another blazer like mine in an aoartment complex the other day as soon as I run into those folks I'm gonna try to co-opt them and grab us another board member. But for sure I've gotta travel some over the next month or too But me should all meet up at a burger joint one day. I bet '65stepside will run over this way too. I'll start shooting this thread out to some folks if you know some folks hit them up too. See you -Jason

I live in Albuquerque, and won’t be able to drive until I get the truck back together again.
The pulley alignment problems are bugging me real bad at the moment.

Thanks man. I'm a newbie to the classic Chevy truck scene, and I would love to hook up with some fellow enthusiasts. I'm sure I will need some help making my dream a reality. I will try and hit those guys up.

Ive been curious bout the green you've been painting ur 70? truck. R u gonna do the whole truck?

jchav62
06-01-2009, 12:25 PM
I am eventually going to paint the '73 green and white in the original 2-tone scheme...using that same sour apple green. I want to put all the trim back on it too. For now, since cash is low, I'm going to paint it a satin white and do the top in that green. I'm also going to have my buddy pinstripe it.

Rollinsqrbdy
06-01-2009, 08:01 PM
Satin white? huh i dont think ive seen that. Kool cant wait to see it painted. I think they did boat pullers truck in a green apple with a white stripe in the middle as a photoshop awhile back. It looked kool. I wanna keep posting in the new mexico area to see who else is still around. I think i finally got a 350 for the 86, I'll know in bout a week. I found a 350 with tbi out of a 88 suburban. I'd like to put that in the 4x4 and the motor thats in the 4x4 into the 86 which is new, it only has like 500 miles on it. Keep us( or me in the new mexico area) on the truck. good luck with it:ito:

No pic necessary. It is a complete rear solid axle from a 1971 or 1972 c10. But it has to be an axle that was set up for coil springs in the rear and not leaf springs. The width is about 58 inches from backing plate to backing plate. And they are 5 lug. A posi would be great too.

I find myself in the same situation. the Mrs. cant wants me to get it home and get to workin on it. I'm not going to complain even though i'm not sure where the money is going to come from to get the parts necessary to get it running again. My 60 kicked my corvette out of the new stall I'm getting ity ready for paint. Have all major bodywork done. replaces the floors and rockers. Just waiting on the cab corners. had small holes that became large holes once I started welding. Just need to get the 50 years of dings taken care of. The 59 nothing in the last 9 months. Everything grinded to a halt this Monday with the hail storm we had in Los Alamos. My DD got hammered. It's an 03 ford ZX2. I'll let the pictures explain.

Took out my back window, so far 26 dents hood, 61 roof 33 trunk.
I plan on painting it this weekend (small car lol). Candy Root Beer, some good has to come out of it. I already ordered the paint, as well as the Hot Rod Flats paint for my 60 (flat copper pearl)

Hey fellas. I know I already asked this once, but any chance anyone knows where to find a 71-72 rear axle with coil spring setup? They are 5 lug and measure about 59 in. from backing plate to backing plate. Also, Im looking for a 68-72 short wheel base coil spring frame. If you have one or both or know someone who does, please let me know. Thanks

jchav62
07-20-2009, 08:22 AM
Progress on the '65 just took a few steps back. The rebuilt 350 took a crap. Had a gasket leak or an undectected crack somewhere. Got water in the oil which caused it to spin a bearing or throw a rod. Whatever it is, sounds horrible. Luckily, we still have the 283. It's going back in in a couple weeks... Check out the build thread in my sig...

Hey Mike,

You stated on your other post that you have roots in Pecos. I'm originally from Henderson, Nevada, but my family comes from around Las Vegas, NM. I've been here (Albuquerque then Santa Fe) for over 6 years now. I play in a band (Camino Oscuro) based out of Pecos. 3 of the 4 members (everyone except me) are from Pecos. Do you still have family there?
