View Full Version : North Carolina folks step inside
I know we had a NC post, but I have seen a ton of new NC folk here lately. Step on in, say hi and let us know what area your from.
We are about 40 min outside of Charlotte in Rockwell.
Where ya'll at?
space 12-07-2007, 10:53 AM :hi2: I'm about 25 miles south of Raleigh, in Benson. If anyone would like to meet up in Raleigh, or somewhere thereabouts, and kick back a few beers sometime, I'm game.
Micmac 12-07-2007, 08:24 PM I'm in Mcleansville, just outside of Greensboro, smack dab in the middle of both of you'ins!
space 12-09-2007, 06:24 AM Now I know there's more than 3 of us...
1972Ryan 12-09-2007, 10:39 AM I'm from Weaverville, just north of Asheville.....glad to be here. Anyone coming through can stop by if I'm not teaching.
Big Block 12-09-2007, 07:02 PM Joined in 2005, live in Durham County.
clemson71guy 12-09-2007, 07:18 PM im in mount holly
about 15 or 20 minuts from charlotte
85gmcguy 12-09-2007, 07:31 PM I live in Alexander, which is pretty much between Asheville and Weaverville. Maybe we should get the WNC folks together sometime....;)
Micmac 12-11-2007, 04:58 PM Why don't we ALL get together? :gi: If by WNC folks you mean you don't want to come to the flatlands, I understand. My 63 will make it up yonder! If not my 03 Sierra is 4WD if'n it's snowing. I love GM trucks and anything to do with em and that would include meeting up with you'uns,
Pete
We've tried having a few meets without much success in attendance numbers. Those who did attend had a blast tho! I think we should pick a location and start planning a spring get together be it a day thing or a weekend event.
Josh
85gmcguy 12-11-2007, 06:50 PM Sounds like a plan, Josh, all we need now is a time and place!
space 12-12-2007, 05:20 AM Count me in :D
BigDaddyDave 12-12-2007, 06:58 AM I live smack in the middle of Concord, and i think a get together would be great! I will drive my truck anywhere that has tow trucks available, cause here lately,my POS wants to stay hooked to one.he he
Micmac 12-12-2007, 12:32 PM Does anyone know a place? BigDaddyDave that Dan Nichols park outside of Salisbury is nice? I also think that place on the Blue Ridge Parkway that has crafts outside of Asheville might let us there. All we need is a BBQ and some GM trucks! I am for whatever gets the most participation. I am out Memorial Day because I am an officer in my local VFW Post. Usually the second weekend of the month I may have to teach all weekend if they call me. Hey it pays for my toys!
space 12-12-2007, 12:55 PM The mountains is a heck of a ride for me, but I'll try to make it happen if that's where everyone wants to meet.
Dan Nicholas park is a great place to have a meet. That's where we had the last one. They have shelters we can rent and plenty of activities for kids. They also let you fish out of the lake and there are quite a few local attractions nearby.
Josh
Micmac 12-13-2007, 07:06 AM I ain't got a problem in the world kickiing in a little jingle if it's needed to get a shelter. :bann:
85gmcguy 12-14-2007, 03:04 PM Looking at the Web sight for Dan Nichols park, it really seems like a nice place to get together. It' a couple of hours from here, but hey, I'm game!

Welcome David!
Ok guy's most the important event dates have been announced. Charlotte Auto Fair will be April 3rd-6th, Maggie Valley will be May 2nd-4th, and the national Board Meet will be July 11th-13th or close to that.
In the interest of not dying in the heat I'd like to see it sometime in April-May. We can rent #2 shelter hopefully which has plenty of parking spaces right in front of it unlike #1 last year that the parking was a little bit away. So I guess it's time to go see whats available and pick a date!
hambone1958 01-07-2008, 02:54 AM Just some FYI we will be in Bowling Green KY for the Buick GS Nationals May13th-17th. Hopefully the truck meet won't be the same week.
I'm leaning towards a mid April meet. I'll try to stop by Dan Nicholas this weekend or next and see whats available when!
GMCBubba 01-08-2008, 01:27 AM hey all. also in durham. would love to get together if i can.
AnniesSS 01-08-2008, 04:16 AM Hi everyone!!! I'm not new to the boards, but it's been a long time since I've posted... and then I was still in NY. :)) Now me and the hubby live in Raleigh and we'd love to get together!!
Unfortunately, my SS is sitting in the driveway in desperate need of a new rear end, so if we do make it, it'll prolly be in the PT Cruiser. :( It's the only thing that's running, but we'll be there! :)
Good to see you again. i remember when you were posting and its great to see you back. I moved from Long Island to NC a little over 10 years ago. Its a great place to be. Dont be a stranger and stay tuned for meet ups we will be having this year.

Bob Smith 01-08-2008, 10:20 AM I'm from Greenville, SC.
Hey guys, the shelters were going fast so I reserved #2 today. It's set for Saturday April 19th. Now let the fun begin of planning out food n all that fun stuff :)
There is a map of Dan Nicholas park @ http://dannicholaspark.net/viewparkmap.aspx #2 is near the entrance but also by a parking lot that should provide plenty of parking for everyone with minimal walking. And those that remember last years get together there this shelter is MUCH closer to the bathrooms!
