bobbo 01-14-2008, 01:25 AM Will make a note on the calendar and will be there! :)
ChaseDale3and8 01-14-2008, 10:36 AM Thanks for the heads up on that Liz! I've been to that one before, and it's a pretty big car show. I haven't been to it for the last 4 or 5 years because I never could remember which weekend it was. I'll likely go this year now that I know. Maybe Bobbo and I can caravan down there with some of the other board members that are from this area! ...Joe
bobbo 01-16-2008, 01:00 AM We can certainly do that! :)
Ron 586 01-16-2008, 05:20 PM Hang in there guys. We may live in different houses but we are still in this together.
bobbo 01-17-2008, 12:41 AM We aren't going anywhere! :) Hopefully will have a new engine done in my truck this spring before all the events get here. :)
ChaseDale3and8 01-18-2008, 03:53 AM Hang in there guys. We may live in different houses but we are still in this together.
I've been beating the bushes trying to drive these guys out of hiding without any luck. I think I may need to get a bigger stick!!!
Seriously, I think that it would be an easier task to get them to convert to Christianity than to get them to come check out and join a FREE truck club! I just don't understand this at all! ...Joe
Ron 586 01-25-2008, 09:27 PM Just stopped in to say hi and let you know that we are still out here plugging along. Good luck in your ongoing search for new members.
ChaseDale3and8 01-25-2008, 11:58 PM We need all the help that we can get! One of the guys that I have been talking to at work about joining this club asked me about how the last meeting went. I told him not too good because my truck broke down on the way there, and I didn't make it there until it was over. He laughed so hard at me for my truck breaking down on the way to a truck club meet that I thought he was going to fall off of his forklift. Personally, I didn't think it was very funny. What a miserable afternoon! ...Joe
bobbo 01-26-2008, 08:55 PM That sucks... :) If he had showed up he could have given you a ride! :) Have you had time to figure it out yet? I have been sick all week so I haven't done anything. :(
72BlckButy 01-26-2008, 09:50 PM Thanks for the update Liz... I have also added it to my list of MO car shows that can be found in my signature.
Not to hijack...but one that I would like to bring to everyone's attention is the Midwest All Truck Nat's (http://www.alltrucknats.com) in Riverside, MO (North Kansas City). Haven't missed a show in the past 3-4 years, and don't plan on missing one in the future. Talk with is2blu for more info.
Back to the Branson show... we might have to make it to this one. bobbo and chasedale3and8... are you guy's going? It would be great to get a large group of 67-72 members to attend this show.
bobbo 01-27-2008, 12:50 AM I am going to attend, would definitely like to get a group together to go. Some good exposure for the club and site.
72BlckButy 01-27-2008, 02:44 AM :agree: I hope we can have a good crowd. I have put it on my calendar...
ChaseDale3and8 01-27-2008, 09:27 AM I am planning to go as well. Bobbo, sorry to hear that you've been sick. I haven't been able to take a look at it because it's just been way too cold. When I was a young farm boy the weather didn't matter to me at all. I used to work on these trucks all year long.
This city livin' (wife's idea not mine) and my age gradually catching up with me has made this old boy kinda soft. I need it to be 50 or better outside before I can force myself to do anything outside. The weather is supposed to break Saturday. We will see about that. If it does I'm going to start by pulling the control module out and get it tested, and check the distributor and see if I think it feels loose side to side.
I'm thinking that it most likely is the control module since the air temperature seems to affect how well it runs. It may be breaking down as it gets hot or something. Do you know if they sell a rebuild kit for the distributor? If it turns out to be the culprit and I can't rebuild mine, I may have to try and locate another one. I know a guy or two that should have one, but I'll have to call them and see.
As far as the guy at work, I think he's going to be one of the all talk and no show types. He can be a jerk at times, and there are days that I really feel like putting my boot right square in his ass.
I'm planning to be at the February meet as long as nothing else bad happens. My mom has been admitted back into the I.C.U. again and has gotten in much worse condition this time than the last time. She fell down the steps on the front of the house Wednesday on her way to a doctor appointment. She was having trouble walking because her legs have really been swollen since the last round at the hospital and that was what caused the fall. They took her by abulance to the hospital and we got some more bad news. Her diabetes has gotten way out of control, and she is on an insulin drip now. Her number was just over 700 this time. When it's that high, you can go into a coma, or even die.
I'll likely be driving my black truck regardless of whether or not I get the 86 running. I want to shake it down without kids in the cab with me in case I run into trouble again. ...Joe
bobbo 01-27-2008, 09:02 PM Sorry to hear about your mom, Joe. Prayers are with her and your family.
Not sure on the rebuild kit for the distributor, check with Oreilly's, a reman distributor isn't too expensive, I had to replace the one in my truck last summer but don't remember how much it was, thinking less than $100. I can get you one a little cheaper through work than what you can get it for, so if it comes down to that, let me know and I will check the price.
Look forward to seeing you next Saturday, we will have a better turn out as I have already received a couple of PM's regarding attendance. Let me know if I can do anything for you or your family!
