Greetings from Michigan. noob here. I have a '71 C-10 1/2 ton that needs a sizeable amount of work. I'm planning on doing some rust repair this winter and need to adress the rear passenger wheel well first. I'll have to take the whole panel off to prep and patch the affected area, and i'm wondering how difficult it is to put the panel back on after removal and what steps I should take to ensure a proper fit. Any and all suggestions & advice would be appreciated. thanks

I don't know about your situation, but am wondering what part of MI you're from? Sorry I can't help, but welcome to the board.

Welcome!
Is your repair on the exterior bedside or the rear inner fender? Either way if its the exterior bedside it maybe easier to take the inner fender completely out so that you can give your self room to work on the panel, plus then the bedside is fixed and not moving around when you are trying to work on it. I used new shorty bedsides and shaved them before the bed was reassembled. I used sawhorses to hold the bedsides, but it was kinda of a pain. Working a bedside attached to the truck with the inner fender out would be easier imo...
Show us some picts!

Thanks for the advice. I'm just gonna leave the panel on and do the best I can with it. I don't know why I even considered taking it off in the first place. It'd probably be incredibly difficult to re-allign when everything is said and done.
