teeitup 01-30-2008, 09:30 AM Tell me more about the blazer, body wise?
72BlazerWA 01-30-2008, 09:35 AM the body is great and the paint still shines...there is some rust on the rockers, mostly drivers side, but no rust on rear quarters at all. I also have an extra GM rust free straight tail gate that would go with it, set of bumpers, 2 outer grills, one perfect inner grill, extra steering wheel...but to answer ur question, the body is nice and straight. It really is a great blazer, we just need the money...
bouncytruck 01-30-2008, 12:50 PM The blazer looks nice. Unfortunately for you, there is a bunch of Blazers for sale in the Pacific NW right now, so you probably won't fetch top $. If you can wait 'til spring, you'll probably get more. That being said, I'd guess it's probably worth in the $6,000-7,000 range - the rust being the biggest knock on the value, the replacement engine being the second. What happened to the original engine anyway. It seems odd that a truck with 68K miles has a replacement engine. If you have the original engine still, it would be worth more.
70rs/ss 01-30-2008, 12:53 PM $8500 to $12k if it is as you say, they are only original once, goodness, don't sell it, it is a part of family!! 5 ORIGINAL TIRES, C'mon you can't get anymore O riginal than that. Good luck that'd be a once in a lifetime buy there.
Well, I got in a rush and didn't see the replacement engine, but none the less still in the $8-10k range. I could see a GM V8 going south early and the dealer just putting a motor in instead of a partial buil (cam lost a lobe) and they'd most likely do a whole motor.
72BlazerWA 01-30-2008, 09:41 PM The original engine still runs perfect. My grandpa took it out and put it in his motorhome because he wanted a low torque engine in the blazer...SO he put the 292 6 from the motorhome in the blazer. When I got the blazer, it hadnt been driven since 94 and the 292, even with a tune up was running rough. So I went ahead and put a 350 in it for the more original look. Im sure I can get the original engine back from him if I want, and I may, its just this one runs great and has a lot of power. And yes bouncy it really does have 68k miles, and a replacement engine..weird, I know.
bouncytruck 01-31-2008, 12:31 AM Now I understand the replacement engine. For such an original truck, not having the original engine in there is a shame. Don't let your grandpa sell the motorhome until you pull that engine.
Do I see buddy buckets in the Blazer?
teamradrz1 01-31-2008, 02:01 AM I know a board member that is looking for a Blazer he's in Portland I'll let him know about your rig I don't think the original engine would be an issue for him he is more interested in an original Blazer with no lift kits or huge tires. I'll forward this to him.
