View Full Version : March 2008 TOTM
Palf70Step 02-16-2008, 08:40 AM In line the the March holiday and the inspiring license plate of See Ten, this month’s TOTM theme is
Envy!
With that in mind, let us check out the criteria or rules for those being nominated for our St. Patty’s holiday month ride.
• Open to all years and models of Trucks, Blazers, Suburbans, Tahoes, Yukons, and Jimmys.
• The truck has to be painted either:
all green
a two-tone green combination
or for a custom job, green must be the primary/base color of the vehicle.
• It must be together and able to move on its own power. It does not have to be licensed for street use.
• If a truck has won a TOTM already in 2006 or 2007, you are ineligible. If you were nominated but were not selected as a TOTM winner then you may be nominated and compete in this month's category.
To Nominate:
You or someone else may nominate your truck. Just add the nomination to this thread. We will need a picture of the nominee vehicle, the owner’s board name, and the basics specs of the truck (year, engine/drive train specs). You or your nominator can provide additional info if desired.
Nominees will through February 21. If additional information is needed, I will PM the first 15 nominees to get any additional data or pictures if they have not already been provided. You can PM me for an e-mail address in case anyone has problems resizing the pictures for the board. A Poll Thread will be set up in this board area and an announcement will be posted on the Discussion Boards to notify all of the voting. The Poll will start to run on February 22 and will run until the morning of February 29. The official announcement of the winner will be on the afternoon of February 29. The announcement of this month’s TOTM winner will be posted through the General Discussion Board area.

His truck was purchased from a gentleman in Alabama who had owned it for over 20 years. Brian painted everything under the hood and added all of the shiny parts as well. Here's what it looked like when he started.

The truck also has ECE 2.5" drop spindles and new stock height springs up front. Out back are ECE 5" drop springs, shock relocators and a super track bar kit. The wheels are Centerline Retros in the 17" diameter. They're 10" wide out back and 8" on the front. A Vintage Air surefit system was also added to make this Georgia heat tolerable during those summertime rides.
It's come a long way.

It was green (well the hood still is) and will be again someday. However, since it don't move at the moment it can't play with this group. Thanks for the thought though.

67_C-30 02-19-2008, 09:16 AM BEAUTIFUL trucks on here! I'm gonna go ahead and nominate samwise's '69 GMC. He is cool young cat, and he and his dad took on the project of a rusty old truck and totally rebuilt it - ending up wrecking just after it was completed - and then put it back together once again. My hat goes off to a guy his age that said "NO" to the Accords and Camrys of the world, and was persistant enough to do what he had to do to put another old truck back on the road. Seeing a father and son project like that is what makes this a great hobby IMO.
samwise68 02-20-2008, 07:22 AM Wow, thanks 67 C30 for the nomination of my junk, especially when pinned against some truley gorgoeus trucks.
but i figured i'd throw a few new pics up.
