How do you get the middle plug on the driver's side out? I cant get the plug socket on it. Couldnt get a box end wrench on it..

What is the trick?

I've used a spark plug socket and a 3/4 wrench on the end of it with my first gen S10s...

On my 00 Blazer, I can put the socket on the plug first, then the extension with U-joint or a wobble extension.

Maybe I am just not holding my head and the right angle and my tongue in the right direction..

I cant even get a socket on the spark plug, to put a wrench or a swivel on it.

Disconnect the linkage. (http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f107/how-to-change-the-pita-3-spark-plug-224471/) Lock the steering wheel before you disconnect the linkage!!
Did you remove the wheels? It's easier to change the spark plugs if you reach through the wheel wells.

Option 2: buy this tool used on headers (http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=all&item_ID=76029&group_ID=19831&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog)

Option 3: cut a socket down to make the same tool above.

Thats what I am talking about..... even talks about the exact problem I am having... but for $31 for 1 socket... I might try the steering shaft first..

But then again... how much is my time worth? :b69:

i broke the motor mount loose on my 2001 blazer then got a long pry bar, put my wife to pushing down on the bar to lift engine to clear the steering shaft, went thru the wheel well pretty easy that way.

I am going to try and disconnect the steering shaft. It looks to be pretty easy..

if it has an air bag BE SURE to lock the wheel before you pull the shaft.
