View Full Version : SW Ohio people - Starting a new car/truck club
HanSoloWS6 02-25-2008, 10:58 PM Just a note to all the Ohio people around Dayton, where ever you are lol. I'm kicking around the idea of starting another car club this spring or summer. I used to the president of one of the largest clubs in SW Ohio, called 0-60. I did that for about 3 years before I had to leave the club for personal reasons. We had cars and trucks of all kinds in the club from all show to all go and some in between. But as time went on, the quality fell off because people we being let in just because they were friends with someone in the club and never did the minimum requirements to their car.
This time around the rules will change a little. Mostly in the area of what types of cars are brought in to the club. For this club, all we basically ask is that you have a common interest in cars, racing, custom cars and trucks, etc. 0-60 used to require 3 mods out of 5 areas; interior, exterior, drive train, suspension, and/or electronics. Now, this time around I wont have these requirements, for the most part. All of the rules for joining are in our forum at the link below.
I have the group open to all people who are actively in some form of racing, show cars, have projects or just attend these events as a spectator. This club is mostly a group to get together regularly and have fun in all areas of the automotive world.
So, with that being said, if anyone in the area is interested, stop by the forum at http://speednutmotorsports.ipbfree.com/index.php?

70cst 07-13-2009, 12:30 AM I think its a good idea but Dayton is a little ways from my home....although I grew up outside Arcanum. Holding down two jobs keeps me busy. Have you thought of a truck only club? Just a thought. Good luck with your quest...as I said it sounds good to me

I did think of making it a truck only club in the beginning, but we(my wife and I) thought that the current structure would bring in more people. Unfortunately, we've become so busy with our lives, we can't promote the club any more than word of mouth, so things have stalled.
Thanks!

'72 Chevy Suburban 08-07-2009, 08:50 PM I am probably not more that 5 miles from you off 42, between Lebanon and Waynesville. Basically I am at the end of Township Line Rd. Let me know if you guys have an outing or meeting.
Thanks,

No kidding, CST! Where at? Wasn't that guy in town doing it, was his name Glen? I was talking with CST Jr. about it sometime last year...
70cst 08-07-2009, 10:56 PM Curt ... He has a garage just on the north edge of Lebanon ... but he has like a 3-4 car garage at his house where he is doing the work. He has some type of statues and a metal gate at the end of his drive way.

Yeah, Curt, that is it... I met him last Summer as he was broken down on the side of the road with a customer's Pontiac Bonneville (Conv) as I dropped by to see if I could help. I think that it was a '66, IIRC but the tow truck was already on it's way.
I also told CST Jr that if you guys get down this way, hook up with me. Or, if there i something that you need done down here, like stop by and take pics, etc. let me know.
