We will continue to meet at the Steak N Shake on S. Glenstone. April 5th is the start of their monthly cruise in so there should be a good turn-out, weather permitting. Would love to see some trucks there as most of it is cars. Hopefully will have the 69 running by then...3 pm we will meet and check out some rides.

I have some good news! I might actually be able to drive my 86 to the April meet! The carb was trashed. I bought another one off the parts board from another board member (Mickey D) and although the throttle linkage got damaged in transit, I was able to straighten it out enough to make it work, so at least the truck runs now! I need a timing light to check the timing and adjust it if needed. ...Joe

That is great news, Joe! Let me know if you need help setting it. I can bring over my light. My cell phone is screwing up and I don't get messages or calls sometimes, so PM me here when I can reach you and we can set-up a time to get her going.

I got her tuned by ear, which is what I used to do all the time back in the day. Seems to run okay and I think I got the very slight pinging that I had taken care of by backing the timing off just a few degrees. I drove her pretty hard on the road trip to Price Cutter on Sunday afternoon. When I hit a grade and mashed the throttle she pinged just a little bit.

I used to do these things so much back in the 80's and 90's that I very rarely used a timing light, and when I did it was just to verify that I had already set it right by ear. Most of the time I had it dead on. I wouldn't mind checking it just to verify that it's right if you want to come over with the light. I'll send you a PM. ...Joe

Well, May I wasn't planning on having a "meeting" due to Maggie Valley being that weekend, but I am sure there will be people at the Steak N Shake for the monthly cruise-in. That sucks that I will miss you though...

Well, the meeting is over and I actually took ALOT of pictures this month. There was an awesome turnout for the first official cruise-in of the year. We really didn't have a meeting, just walked around checking out cars, trucks and ate some food. Myself, Chasedale3and8, Kyull67, Custom68, and brad_man were all in attendance. yellow car is a superformance shelby daytona coupe. it was great getting to meet some of you guys and seeing your trucks in person. this car show is really spectacular for its size, alot of VERY nice cars, and trucks. and my truck almost made it into a couple of pictures.:aw:thats me
