Would you guys recommend a used welder over a brand new one? It always scares me buying things w/out any kind of warranty. Is there a whole lot that can go wrong w/a welder?

If it is a "name brand" unit and you can "test-drive" it.....why not? (Assuming that the price is right too)
I wouldn't take a chance on some off-brand thing that you may not be able to get parts/service for.
