Paint with a brush or spray can? Knothead 04-06-2008, 02:31 PM When you say "spray" are we talking rattle can or gun? If you mean rattle can , brushing will be your best bet.I sprayed mine with a gun, very pleased with results. But mine was stripped down. You may want to reserch the POR 15 product, that stuff is pretty impresive also. A little pricey but a quart goes a long way. Sport/Truck 04-06-2008, 05:07 PM Check out John Deers "blitz black" paint. I's one tough paint and allot of people are starting to use it for cars. s/t 68c10guy 04-10-2008, 05:25 AM Alright awesome, anyone know anything special about POR15 zerwar 04-10-2008, 06:07 AM use it all the time. used it on my 1966 malib SS, my 67 imperial, and my 67 chevy truck. I had a gallon of the gloss black and the whole kit, brushes , gloves, degreaser product that comes with it. Great stuff, took a week to get it off my face, neck, hands, hair etc. NOTHING takes it off your skin once it drys, just time. trust me I found out the hard way a few times:lol:. 68c10guy 04-11-2008, 12:25 AM haha good advice i'll be sure to be somewhat careful. OLDNaVy3600 04-16-2008, 07:27 PM me an my buddy just finished primering his 64' chevy long bed frame with the new front in on, and cab, etc. ....just tape off anything you dont want painted......rustoleum (rattle can) worked really well to primer the frame...takes a long time to dry tho today we are using a spray gun for the glossy black look......:metal: i wouldnt use a rattle can to be the final coat tho.... just my 2 cents worth good luck ! the_goat 04-19-2008, 04:04 AM About how many cans did it take to primer the frame? neto 04-19-2008, 04:44 AM I used the Eastwood frame paint. One quart of black primer and four cans of gloss black. I still have more than half a can. It's about 80 bucks. Before and after picture. You can see by the shadow it took me most of the day to wire brush and less then an hour to paint. |
