OK, this month our theme is dedicated to our sharp looking, but heavy duty haulin’ trucks, so our theme title is:

Big Mama!

Now here are the rules or criteria the vehicles must meet in order to be nominated

• Open to all years of ¾ ton, 1 ton, or greater capacity haulers.
o Single or dual rear wheel trucks, as well as panels, vans, or suburbans.
o They can be either 2WD or 4WD.
• It must be together and able to move on its own power.
• It must be currently licensed & street legal.
• If a truck has won a TOTM already in 2006, 2007, or 2008 you are ineligible. If you were nominated but were not selected as a TOTM winner then you may be nominated and compete in this month's category.

To Nominate:

You or someone else may nominate the vehicle. Just add the nomination to this thread. We will need a picture or two of the nominee vehicle, the owner’s board name, and any of the basics specs (year, engine/drive train specs) you or your nominee wish to provide.

I normally use 1 picture showing a good front-side view and 1 with a rear view of the vehicles on the voting threads. If the owner has a preferred picture they want used in the contest, please let me know in a PM.

Nominees will through May 24. If additional information is needed, I will PM the first 15 nominees to get any additional data or pictures if they have not already been provided. You can PM me for an e-mail address in case anyone has problems resizing the pictures for the board. A Poll Thread will be set up in this board area and an announcement will be posted on the Discussion Boards to notify all of the voting. The Poll will start to run on May 25 and will run until the morning of June 1. The official announcement of the winner will be on the afternoon of June 1. The announcement of this month’s TOTM winner will be posted through the General Discussion Board area.

OK folks, so lets get those big dude nominations in!

I would like to nominate LFD's Low Buck. I think it is a great representation of what we all strive for and that is doing the work our selves, saving a bit of money and building it in a way that suits our tastes. Kevin's truck is both a working truck and an eye-catching piece of art.

Dont think thats going to make any difference. Pretty sure it needs to be a members truck, not a members dad's truck...

I nominate Longhorn Man...now I know this is not the most flattering pic of his truck but here are my reasons for the nomination...

First it's a one ton.

Second it's a Longhorn ..got those extra inches.:sumo:

Next it's got a big ole Caddy big block in it :metal:

Last but not least it has a bullet hole in the tailgate, and is driven by a guy nicknamed Stallion by random ladies .....

So I say LHM's truck is "Big Mama"....

I would also like to nominate Andy for "Lawnmower of the Month"

I've looked all over and can't find the pic, but there's a member who lives in England who has a faded red 64-66 C-60 real long wheelbase wrecker. One of the pics he has is with a good-lookin' lady in a long black dress standing in front of it. Anyhoo, I'd like to nominate that truck if anyone knows whose it is.

Thank you, I really appreciate the nod, but my truck is far from done, it is really in the beginning stages, so I would gracefully bow out. There are a lot of guys who have put a ton of long hard hours into their trucks,

I personally would like to see Yukon Jack get it. He has put a ton of long hard hours into his truck, and I know he has been a member on here forever and a day, his is a really cool truck, and in many ways his is representative of a truck I have always wanted to build. As well I know from pictures that he actually uses the truck and from what I have read it was a long road for him to get it to where it is today, and if I'm not mistaken involved a few bout's with a trailer or two trying to make it all happen.

Slomotion, beautiful truck. Do you use it or is it a show only truck? Nice!

slomotion
05-19-2008, 02:46 AM
Thanks guys, I use it for light stuff. I have two pieces of 1/2" plywood with carpet strips that match the skid strips on the bed. There's also two sets of fences, one varnished oak for cruises and shows, and another set of ratty ones that I can tie stuff to. I avoid useing it on rainy (muddy) days, but dry days are OK. I've hauled hay locally, There's been a few engines on it, and a lot of palletized stuff. The fork lift drivers at the local lumber yard draw straws when they see me coming......loser loads. :)

Paul, thanks for the nomination!
I think this'll be the 3rd or 4th time nominated and lost! :haha:
The tailgate has been removed, and a 'beater' gate that 75% of the guys on here would kill for has been installed.
as far as the added length... remember... it's all about the 6 inches! :haha:
As for the lawn mower... that's just crush weight. It was the ex-wife's. I'll quote what she said when i told her why it wouldn't run any more... "You never told me I had to check the oil!"

Something to point out... I see quite a few 1/2 ton C/10 and C/1500's being nominated for 3/4 ton and up TOTM.

Wow, thanks Bouncy. Im afraid the only thing Im going to win with this truck is the "What the heck was he thinking when he put that canopy on there" award.

Lots of great trucks to pick from this time around, a bunch of real work horses.

well. since i'm a lazy SOB, i'm not posting pics.

But I'd like to nominate 67_C30, and his 1967 one ton dually. just because it's one bitchin' truck, and a workhorse to boot.
