Sorry for this fickledness.I realized Carlisle All GM is 6/20,21,and 22.Isn`t the following Sunday better? Please let me know what you think.Once I realized,I wanted to change it but was concerned it would foul it all up.Well,I`m doing it unless I get input against it.I also feel I really need to set up a spot at Carlisle to sell off some things cuz "I need some cake!"One more reason this wouldn`t be a good weekend,On the 24th I have a second zoning variance hearing and I don`t want mt neighbors any more aggitated than how they were born .I think the commission is on my side and I don`t want anyone to think I`m being cocky about it before the decision is made.
Directions:
I`m on Buffalo Road west of MD27 and south off of MD26.About 5 miles out of Taylorsville (27 & 26).I`m on the left about 3 miles and on the left.
From I-70 take the Mt.Airy/MD27 exit and head north towards Westminster and look for Harrisville Rd @ a blinking light about 5/6 miles from the interstate. You`ll hit Buffalo Rd. at the bottom of the hill.Turn right and right again at the stop sign 100' up the road. It`s about 2 miles from there on right

PM for exact address.Thanks

special-K
06-14-2008, 06:46 PM
Ok,how anout some warm water, towels, and a wee little beany cap?
I have a picnic table (8`) in a screened house and a couple chairs for the ends.Prolly good for 8,unless we squeeze four on a side...nah.I probably could use a table.I was looking to see if I had materials to make another.I`ve been wanting to move the one in there to outside (pressure treated) and making a nice one to sit inside.I have one bench to sit two, maybe three.I have two double gliders and three lawn chairs (old metal type). Also a couple fold-up chairs.I`m guessing a dozen people?I just remembered I have a decent round foling table that my daughter borrowed. That`s good for fout,at least. We`ll see.
I`m still not sure exactly what I`ll cook.I figure a combination of ribs, burgers, sausage or kielbasa, maybe a chunk of pork.I guess side dishes would help alot.I think I can take care of the meat.Bring whatever drinks?I`ll have something, too. But,don`t want to run out.Feel free to take home what you bring and don`t drink.
Door prize to the 100th guest!

I`m thinking to eat,or start eating, fairly early like 1:00.I don`t care how early you all show up.

I'm in for sure. Maybe bringing a friend ('72 Cheyenne Super), if welcome? I figure the more the merrier, but it's not my house.

special-K
06-18-2008, 10:39 PM
I`m fine with that. We`ll make it work, whatever it is.I have dirt (with grass) to gather on with air to breath(and a toilet/running water). What more could you ask for?The store`s not far if we need more of anything.I`m just glad it appears people are coming.

I'm in as of right now... mama is PO'd at me for hogging all the travel money... hmm, didn't I just drop $4K on a trip to Europe?

oh well, anyway.... let me kow what I can bring. besides your seats that you now own...

special-K
06-19-2008, 05:46 AM
I could probably use more seating/tables.But,someone local could handle that.Mike, you make it sound like I`m in Europe:lol:.I know,$1.00 per quart gas...everybody bring beverage of choice.Maybe a side dish if someone has a specialty,as in ho-made.Post here so we don`t double up or overdo.I`m thinking some kielbasa, local burger, and a bit of this`n`that of more special stuff.Like a beef round or pork or turkey, maybe.Any preferences/suggestions?If I was more affluant(can`t even spell it,I`m so poor) I`d have crabs.

Any chance of a to go plate making its way to FL?:D

Sure,I`ll get some dry ice and overnight it.
I bought Carolina BBQ for my son`s graduation party that way.:D
I don`t know if this stuff will be worthy.I can`t see sending burnt weenies.

Got room for a new guy from PA and his unique 72 truck?

369127

Your not too far and I don't see anything on the wife's schedule for Sunday. Is it confirmed for the 29th now?

I'm also headed for the GM show in Carlisle, 15 minutes away, tomorrow. Is there anyone getting together there on Friday?

I`d say about noon.No time limits here, that`s all up to other`s needs.

One thing I need to say.I have a klanish family living on both sides that get uptight about...everything not associated with thier gene pool,if you get my drift. It`s all good and we can have all the fun we want. They haven`t stopped me in 22 years.I live, they suck,oh well.My only concern is they get 15 kinds of uptight if anyone pulls into their driveways.I don`t have alot of parking.I`ll be putting some of my stuff just down the road at "friendly" neighbor`s.We`ll find places,he may have a couple spots and there`s a church up the road.

We have some chicken, potato salad, possible two if not a macaroni salad, and corn so far.I`m making burgers, kielbasa, and a pork tenderloin. If anyone has a specialty side dish that would be great.Fruit salad would be cool.I was thinking if someone might grab burger rolls,chips/snacks,sodas,maybe a watermelon(vodka:D)...Anyone who wants to bring something, just list it here.I know of two people have mentioned the first list if things.

Definately! I`m still thinking a crab feast is due for us Marylanders, yet, this summer, too.I don`t care who has it or where. We just all need to get together more. And,as far as crabs go,you don`t have to be from Maryland to be invited and we`d offer something for those non-crustacean types.

Everything offered sounds good so far.Anything not seen that anyone thinks will be good is fine with me.

AlienYouth
06-26-2008, 11:16 PM
soo... i leave at 4 in the morning sunday :( ive been lookin forward to this for so long too...

We just all need to get together more.

I agree, i think it'd be nifty to have a regular meet, like once a month at a restaraunt or something..

special-K
06-27-2008, 06:34 AM
The more regularly we all get together then it`s not so bad when someone can`t make it.Just catch the next one.It would likely work out to be rare to get everyone at once. But,when that happens,it`s totally cool.
I don`t have a good place, but gathering on private property rocks. My brother-in-law and sister have a big place with a great pond (fountain, clean spring fed water).I`d like to get him into letting me barge in on him.Maybe a combined party and get a band. He`s farther out past Frederick. But,well worth the drive.

special-K
06-28-2008, 07:16 AM
That`ll help alot,thanks.

Just everyone remember, don`t pull into the driveways on either side.Same family and funny about that.People tend to pull into the one on the right,as you face the house, when I have something for sale or whatever. They seem to think they are out in the country where people don`t get uptight and are just glad to breathing good country air. They`d be right, except for these people...go figure.

Buffalo Road is a 30mph country road.Just pull over and we`ll see about finding a place for you.Don`t worry about sitting part in the road, slows things down around here.I`m on a straight stretch.I talked to my neighbor (he`s normal) about using a few spaces and there`s a church down the way.I hope they`ll be cleared out by the time we`d need space.

msgross
06-28-2008, 07:38 AM
Is their a local park that you would rather gather at?

special-K
06-28-2008, 02:38 PM
No,parks aren`t as fun as people`s houses. It`s no big deal.People just tend to pull in to the next door driveway.I talked to the neighbors today just to let them know what to expect.

It got hot a little hot, rained a little, cooled off a little, cook alot/ate a little, had a little gathering of trucks on my little property,I got to chat a little with each guy...it was a nice little get together. We even had John from Littlestown.
I got a few pictures. It`s not like we could all spread out for any decent shots(little place^).Here`s a few of the filled driveway and parting shots as guys pulled out (except the two Tahoes...nothing personal). It was an all GMs.

Maybe we should have a cookout/hangout/swap/product install time. If anyone wants to install a lift on say a GMC while the grill going (lift install demo) we could do that at the same time kind of thing. I'm going to get my compresssor up and runnning again this week and bring my burn rig home so it would be a easy 3-4 hour ordeal. I can promise it will come apart fast..... just need to have new spring eye bolts with your kit.

I would definatly be willing to host or bring tools and just a little knowledge somewhere else if someone else really wants to do it. I can fit about 20 cars as long as 1/2 are willing to park in the grass. Hell my neighbors are likely to walk over and hang out for awhile with total strangers :lol:no problem. that was the kid who needs the 5 lug rear Tim.

Meanwhile I guess I will have my own 67-72 party at my place.
