I never said I was a mechanic :lol: Well a broken fusible link disabled my truck for a mere 10 minutes. It was the orignial one and just pulled out of the factory ring lug terminal. I am proud to say that I did find it very fast, like about 2 minutes( it was not visibly broken) only thing I had to go on was my ammeter had quit giving my a reading some 40-50 miles short of our fuel stop. I shut the truck off to fuel up and tried to start it right back up and got nothing, not even the brake light :( Anyway I popped the hood and checked the voltage at the batt and had 11.5 volts, so not great but should have started. I looked for a a few seconds and thought that I would check to see if I had voltage at the link terminal on the fender and I didn't. I tugged on the fusible link and it popped right out of it's terminal. I had some ring lugs in my tool kit and had the tools to fix it, but the catch was eventhough I had 11.5 volts, there was not enough amps to get it fired up. I had for the strangest reason forgot to pack my jumper cables DUH!! Tony (bad6772) looks at me and says maybe the gas station has some in there, and I said yeah right,but let's go see. Sure enough they did, they were half opened flip backwards and hard to see, but they were there!!! So for $15.00 I am out the door and getting a jump from the funniest guy I have ever meet off the board. The whole time he was giving me crap about the whole electricain and electrical problem thing,and kept me LMAO the whole time!! The trip down was the best part for me, getting to hang out with Tony and Alicia, who BTW is just as funny as he is, made the trip A LOT OF FUN and a great adventure!!!
