Some recent posting made me think of redoing this for the topic of our contest This one will take a bit of effort on our nominees’ part. The Truck of the Month (TOTM) theme for this month is

Picture Perfect!!

What will be different is not just the truck that we like, but which photo input is the most artistic. Those of you that have done this know it takes some thought and effort in creating the perfect shot.

The criteria for this month are:

The photo must contain a picture with one of our vehicles in it.

The vehicle nominated needs to belong to a board member during the time of the contest

Any year GM vehicle; Trucks, Blazers, Suburbans, Tahoes, Yukons, and Jimmys, and in any state of operation; show, shine, street, garage queen, on-going project or a pile of parts.

If a truck has been a TOTM winner during 2006, 2007, or 2008, it is ineligible for the current contest. If the truck was nominated but was not selected as a TOTM winner then it may be nominated and compete in this month's category.

To Nominate:

You or someone else may nominate the vehicle. Just add the nomination to this thread. We will need a picture or two of the nominee vehicle, the owner’s board name, and any of the basics specs (year, engine/drive train specs) you or your nominee wish to provide.

Nominees will through August 24. If I need additional information, I will PM the first 15 nominees to get any additional data or pictures if they have not already been provided. You can PM me for an e-mail address in case anyone has problems resizing the pictures for the board. A Poll thread will be set up in this board area and the Discussion Boards will have a post notify all that the contest voting has begun. The Poll will start to run on August 25 and will run until the morning of September 1. The official announcement of the winner will be on the afternoon of September 1. The announcement of this month’s TOTM winner will be posted through the General Discussion Board area.

Remember, it is not just the truck this month, but the truck in the photo experience. So guys, brake out the cameras, plan your shots, and get those nominations in.

Guess I'll give this a try. It's a combination of a 65 Chevy short step and a 63 GMC Custom. Had a GMC 305 V6 between the fender wells but for now has an olds 307 waiting patiently under the hood for me to get back and get running. Pic turned out the way it did by accident but i've grown to like it.

I think a theme for this contest sometime should be best resurrection. Before and after of who turned the worst pile of junk truck into the sharpest ride. Just a thought for the future. Jerry

P.S. If it has already been done, sorry I missed it!

I got to nominate DISBURBAN. What started as a $200 diamond in the rough has now consumed over $5000 and has fought me every step of the way. From the rust from the waist down to the suspension that had to be rebuilt 10 times to finally get the right stuff. The powertrain is the stock 230 6 banger and a powerglide.

I guess I'll try this out once... :D

This is my '72 C/10 that I purchased in March of '05. This thing has been a great project and still has a long road ahead of it. It's powered by a 400SB out of a '76 Monte (so I was told), and is backed by a TB350. It has factory air, tach, PS, PB, and has obviously had an older resto.

Since I've purchased the truck, I have started gathering pieces including:

'72 tilt column (from crews)
2 rust free '72 doors (from kingsolver72)
straight and rust free SWB (from lolife99)
original '71-72 bench seat (from teeitup)
original black seat belts/retractors (from 72ironmike)

While I'm at it, thanks to those mentioned above, and also tcb-1, GRIMSS, jeffspower, gcburdic, bigdon-70blazer, larry may, Mudder, 68_GMC, and so many other members on this site. It's because of them that this thing keeps running.

Keep safe and keep on truckin'!

I'll submit mine, it's a 68' C10 LWB 350 w/ 700R4 combo. My kids have named it, and going along with them I'll call it Building Nemo.... 2yrs 8mo in progress, got it home from body shop in March with fresh body damage from Oklahoma Highway Dept, progress is really slow cause I am missing so many parts that I ordered but somehow got lost between the body shop my dads house and here, and just can't afford to replace them.

Well I'm not sure if I would call it "Picture Perfect" But here are some pics of my 64 C-10 LWB that I have been building for 14 years. It definitely hasnt been a picture perfect story to get it finished. But I think the end result turned out pretty good. I have had the truck since I was in high school and drove it for a couple years before I was persuaded by a buddy of mine that I needed "more power" and that is where I hate to say it "The Nightmare Began"
Anyways to make a long story short it was through 3 bodyshops and 3 mechanics over that 14 yrs and all of them at some time or another lost interest in it. It was really frustrating because it was not for a lack of $$ let me tell you that. I did all the bolt up including the body, engine etc. My bro-in law built the bottom end of the 383 Stroker. It has a 400 tranny with an Auburn 3.40 Posi. The color is one of a kind that I picked out of a Dupont book and added Blue Pearl to the midcoat.

My 4yr old cruising buddy would like to nominate our truck as she thinks its "Pretty Cool".

Guess I will add mine to the mix this month. It's a 71 1/2 ton 4x4 Cheyenne Super with a 350, automatic transmission, original tilt, tach, dealer added cruise control, tow hooks, manual throttle factory A/C, AM/FM radio and Bucket seats.
I'm in the middle of replacing the old crappy steel bed floor with new oak.
Anyway, this is the pic I like the best right now.
