I was reading about a car show in Pigeon Forge TN called the 'Fall Grand Run'. Is it a big deal? Has anyone been that might be familiar w/the times & particulars?

Has anyone been that might be familiar w/the times & particulars? woodridge 08-21-2008, 03:02 PM It is big, lots of cool cars and trucks and plenty of stuff for the family to do. Here is a link to PF's website that has more info. http://www.insidepigeonforge.com/car-shows/fall-grand-rod-run-car-show/ SCOTI 08-21-2008, 03:46 PM I'll be in PF for a different car event but this show was mentioned. I'll check out the link..... HuggerCST 08-21-2008, 04:07 PM I've been to the fall grand run a couple of times, and yes, it's big, lol. It's similar to cruisin the coast in Biloxi, Miss., if you've been to it, but the grand run is probably a little bigger, or at least more compact. Pigeon Forge is awesome too, but expensive. SCOTI 08-21-2008, 04:52 PM I'll be there for a Pro-Touring group get together called RTTH (Run Through The Hills). Some pretty decent old cars w/some serious road carving abilities. Should be able to do both shows. Do you guys know what time things 'end' each night? HuggerCST 08-21-2008, 09:55 PM Here's a flyer that I got in the mail. SCOTI 08-21-2008, 10:11 PM Cool. Thanks for the info! bdydrp97s10 08-22-2008, 02:07 PM well ive been to the fall Run a few times, and ive been to the spring run a alot more.. but everybody ussually starts clearing out around 1 or 2 in the morning.. but i have been to the spring run a fe wtimes and the strip didnt clear out well until about 3 in the morning. shortbed70 08-27-2008, 07:05 PM I've gone for the last 6 years to get ideas see some cool trucks and cars and now my truck is in pieces in the shop being gone through stem to stern so maybe next year it can go too. It is a big event not just in the grand on th-fri-sat but from thursday on you can watch some of the vehicles come in and then by friday you can't go anywhere its so buisy. I wish they would block off at least one lane for the hotrods to cruise. I've met alot of interesting people from all over the state. Its fun. HuggerCST 08-27-2008, 07:38 PM by friday you can't go anywhere its so buisy. I wish they would block off at least one lane for the hotrods to cruise. I agree. Knowing the back roads helps, but I usually take a bike and just park the truck near the Grand on friday/saturday. I've seen it take people 2-3 hours to get from 40 into Pigeon Forge, and that's with 6 lanes running through town. shortbed70 08-28-2008, 09:24 PM Yea we have these little battery powered scooters we get around on. If your going to be there show me a pic of your truck and where you'll be and if I can find ya I'll stop by. Always like meeting new people with the same passion in trucks. bdydrp97s10 08-29-2008, 12:53 AM ive cam down just for saturday in the fall for the past two years and it has always taken every bit of three hours to make it from I40 to the strip.. enen though its only like 4 miles. 87Lowrider 09-07-2008, 09:53 PM My wife and I were there this past spring... MAN what a bunch of cars / trucks / rods, etc... We had planned on going back with the lowrider this fall, but it's not road worthy yet. So, we'll have to wait till the spring. shortbed70 09-14-2008, 07:21 PM Well I can tell you there car count is hurting I think because of the previous post about the younger croud causing issues with thinking its a mardigrau event. If you want to see a bunch of kids in desiel truck hotrod around and yell and teenage girls with shorts so short a preacher would blush then its just the place to go. It seems like its not about the cars crusing anymore and the cops let the kids blow black smoke and hang out of the back of trucks but let a hot rod rev it up and they get a ticket. Pretty Sad... I have pics of actual cars I will post later. |
