Hey guys Im in League City and I am wanting to leave tomorrow To get out of the hurricanes way. I am thinking about heading to San Antonio. My question is what is the best way to avoid long traffic delays? take I10 or maybe 59 south to 87 north? Maybe someone knows another short cut? I will be leaving by 9am. Taking the computer with me so I will not be able to reply after that.
Thanks.

Sorry to hear that man, I bet that is the fire they were talking about on the weather channel. I just hope you all are safe, it is all material things, you can get them back, your health is another story. Good luck, and if you need anything let me know and I will see what I can do.

Im back and have all my fingers and toes.
Half of a big tree split and fell on my lines to the house both power and cable. Been without power for a few days and still only have one leg of the power now (my lines are down) I called the cable co a few days ago just to get on the list. I just ran my own cable a few minutes ago. Its good to be connected again.
You would not believe the amount of damage done. I have seen hundreds of homes flooded and all of the belongings out in the front yard tring to dry them or just going to have to trash them. It is a very sad scene.
Everybody always says it looks like a war zone, well it really does.
I was very lucky to not have any real damage just a power and cable line.
All the pepole I have met have been so cool and everybody is helping each other.
The second day back and noone had power and eveyone was going to loose all their food in the freezers, so we just had one big block party. Everyone brought what they had and we got some big BBQ pitts and cooked everything before it could spoil.
Alot of pepole won't have a home to go back to, so I feel guilty about that.
The only thing I can say is I have met alot of good pepole during this time and made some new friends that if not for IKE I would have never known.
Thats all for now

Just got my power back yesterday, man that was no fun. ;) I hear you on the suckiness of flooding. I've been flooded by rainwater three times, thankfully Ike only tore some trees up at my house this time. I can't imagine cleaning up a sal****er flood. Glad to hear you're ok.

I got power late last sunday . I stayed through it and probably won't ever again . I got 4 holes in the roof and lost 7 trees . I have spent $1850 on tree removal already . This is during and after the storm .
