View Full Version : October 2008 TOTM
Palf70Step 09-17-2008, 07:43 PM This month our Truck of the Month (TOTM) theme will fit into the theme of the holiday this month.
Darkwing Truck!
With that in mind let check out the criteria or rules for those being nominated for an All Hallows' Eve cruiser.
The criteria for this month are:
Open to all years and models of Trucks, Blazers, Suburbans, Tahoes, Yukons, and Jimmys..
The vehicle nominated needs to belong to a board member during the time of the contest
The truck has to be painted either:
all BLACK,
or a two-tone black combination.
No other paint combos are eligible this time
If a truck has been a TOTM winner during 2006, 2007, or 2008, it is ineligible for the current contest. If the truck was nominated but was not selected as a TOTM winner then it may be nominated and compete in this month's category.
To Nominate:
You or someone else may nominate the vehicle. Just add the nomination to this thread. We will need a picture or two of the nominee vehicle, the owner’s board name, and any of the basics specs (year, engine/drive train specs) you or your nominee wish to provide.
Nominees will through September 24. If I need additional information, I will PM the first 15 nominees to get any additional data or pictures if they have not already been provided. You can PM me for an e-mail address in case anyone has problems resizing the pictures for the board. A Poll thread will be set up in this board area and the Discussion Boards will have a post notify all that the contest voting has begun. The Poll will start to run on September 25 and will run until the morning of October 1. The official announcement of the winner will be on the afternoon of October 1. The announcement of this month’s TOTM winner will be posted through the General Discussion Board area.
So, let's see what this month will bring. Get in your nominations folks!!:gmc2::chevy:

72BlckButy 09-17-2008, 09:39 PM guess I'll try this out once...
This is my '72 C/10 that I purchased in March of '05. This thing has been a great project and still has a long road ahead of it. It's powered by a 400SB out of a '76 Monte (so I was told), and is backed by a TB350. It has factory air, tach, PS, PB, and has obviously had an older resto.
Since I've purchased the truck, I have started gathering pieces including:
'72 tilt column (from crews)
2 rust free '72 doors (from kingsolver72)
straight and rust free SWB (from lolife99)
original '71-72 bench seat (from teeitup)
original black seat belts/retractors (from 72ironmike)
While I'm at it, thanks to those mentioned above, and also tcb-1, GRIMSS, jeffspower, gcburdic, bigdon-70blazer, larry may, Mudder, 68_GMC, and so many other members on this site. It's because of them that this thing keeps running.
Keep safe and keep on truckin'!

1972 GMC C/2500 long fleet.
Whiskey sippin' 350 auto
Runs great when it feels like it, otherwise runs alright.
This is the first vehicle i've owned that literally does what it wants.
If it wants to drive around all day and spend all my money on gas, then so be it. Actually i think it owns me.
