The thought of getting away from the debris and traffic of Houston to meet up with other Texas Truckers got me thinking of possible sites that would meet suitable criteria. The sites must be centrally located so that most everyone can get there and home in a reasonable time, provide a facility with shelter/restrooms, allow the consumption of food and beverage, have local back roads for a road tour or cruise, and be a fun place.
Two towns come to mind for me...Brenham and Giddings.
I have feelers out to the Parks boards at both right now for more information and actually have a reservation for Saturday 11 Oct at a nice park in Brenham which fits this bill PLUS IT IS FREE! They will also let us park on the grass next to the pavillion. The contact is firming things up and will call me back by Wed noon.
Giddings is also a nice town and has a large park on the west end of town that would be nice. Lots of good back roads there also.
How does this sound? Any other suggestions?

I could probably make that. I'll be in TN for Luv's meet end of Oct. beginning of Nov. but I think my Oct. schedule is clear other than that.

Another option which is even more attractive is meeting up at the Sterling McCall Cadillac Museum in Warrenton, Tx. This is just south of Round Top and north of La Grange. The Rosanky swap meet is held in the area annually. They have a small pavillion and permit picnic lunches. They also give discounted group tours. I need to call them back this Sat to talk to the people in charge. This would be a good alternative to Brenham and still a nice drive from Houston or Austin areas.

Here is another. There is another car museum in Rosanky and they said they had plenty of room and we could cook outside. They will also give us a group rate of $4/person and provide a meeting room. We just have to pickup after ourselves...well there goes that idea.
Here is the link for the two museums.
Here is the new one:

The boss man there has a 72 Chevy C10 so he knows what type of people we are...damn! :haha:
Here is the Sterling McCall Museum:

We could do one this time and the other one next time.
Need to firm a date up though
Run a poll to see 10/11 or 10/18 is preferred by the others.
