16th Lonestar Nationals Oct. 3 - Oct. 5, 2008 @ Texas Motor Speedway. Thought I would see who's gonna make it from this site.

ill be there for the first time. I missed it last year but not again. Should be really nice event from what I hear.

I'll be there w/my buddies from Stoked Out Specialties. Not bringing any trucks into the show since my 74 is a late model as far as Good-Guys is concerned (it will be out in the parking lot though ;) ).

No drag racing action but they have the Air-Ride Tech autocross that's open to all entrants as long as the vehicle passes basic tech. That's definitely worth checking out for anyone that goes. Bunch of vehicles, manufacturers midway, car corral, & swap meet.

Lunch & drinks are pricy so throw some stuff in a cooler to stash in your vehicle & bring your own shade (sunscreen or hat) cause there's none @ the track :lol: .

I am currently planning to make the show this year. Hoping to find a show special on an AC system.

Yes..... But get there early. You'll be amazed @ how long the line is.

7am if your looking for prime parking. I guess it's not a big deal otherwise (if you don't mind parking in the middle of everything).

anyone have a car trailer I could borrow or rent for the weekend? I'd feel more comfortable trailering my truck to the show.

Did anyone else drive around the track? I left for a while and came back about 7:40 because my ticket said that I could go around the track at 8:00. Turns out they just had the last group of cars finishing up and it looked like I was too late. But the lady let me go ahead.
I was the only other vehicle on the track besides the 2 pace cars, the lead pace car pulled up beside me before we started and says "So do you wanna go fast?" Of course, so he said to just keep up. I got to go about 100mph for I think 3 laps. It was a huge rush, those turns were really cool.

Sounds like you had a stroke of luck there. I took my 54 around the track about 7PM and was on the "pole" coming out of the pits. The track cruise was worth the price of admission to me. Got some great "in-cab" pics during the ride. I was wanting to go faster than the pace car but still had fun at 80mph.

Took lots of pics and hope to have them posted tonight.

My friend was riding with me and we planned on recording it on my camera, but we completely forgot. I definitely plan on doing that every chance I get.

The track cruise was worth the trip all by itself.
