Your best bet is the net, tons of property listed. This is how my brother found his house here last month

Hey,would I get banned if I took this thread over cuz I`ve been thinking about moving near Knoxville?...Really,I`ve told people:lol:.I promise I`ll only ask for suggestions...just a point in the right direction,is all.I promise I`ll find a realtor,too:lol:...unless your uncle Milton has a piece I can buy.

Same stuff,I guess.I`d have to start off shopping for a house and some kind of work.I like living out a ways, prolly east towards the mountains.
I`d just take suggestions on good places to look.I like small towns and old stuff...houses,towns/businesses,ways of life.I`d like to know what to do for fun...parks,event,traditions,etc.
I don`t want to ask anyone to play realtor or hunt a job down for me.
Ordinarily I`d start coming there and be checking it out. That`s just been hard to do these past few years.I really like the Smokey Mtn region and figure Knoxville is a sizable city to get a new start in that`s close enough to enjoy the hills to the east.I`m a carpenter, but could look into other jobs.

Here is some info that may help.
http://www.tnvacation.com/east/

This is a map of east TN, I am N of knoxville 20 miles and I love it, I am the red X on the map. But I have marked one city E of knoxille that you may like, it's about 35 miles from down town. Hope that helps some.

He somehow heard about a '67 one-ton for $300 in Charlotte, TN. He had asked if anybody was close to Charlotte (in Dickson Co.) and I told him that I pass pretty close to there when I go visit my parents in Centerville. Well, he said he had the seller's name and cell #, but it wasn't working (I'm guessing the seller had one conversation with him, and that was enough), and he didn't have an address...but could I look him up, drive to his house, and then "when you find his house and he or some one is home call my cell phone with your cell phone and hand them your cell phone with me on the other end." (Punctuation added by me -- he apparently doesn't believe in it.) I spent about five minutes on the internet and found the seller's address for him, but he still wanted me to drive out there. He probably would have asked me to pay $300 and tow the thing to Florida for him, too...

I absolutely love it here and would never consider leaving.
