1. is the black used for the chassis (factory) a gloss or satin? was it one layer or two?

2. was the drivetrain (engine/tranny/transfercase) painted a particular color from the factory? My transfer case and engine has orange paint on it-don't know how original this is though. I found a chevy blue engine/drivetrain paint-anyone know what years this blue was used (don't know the name but its NOT 'corporate blue').

if anyone has recommendations on chassis paint I'm all ears!
thanks,
Paul

as far as i know 1976 was the last year for the orange paint on the motors . The paint on the chassis is like a matte or satin black
I do not know the names of the colors though:flag: :bowtie:

if you go to your chevy dealer, you can get a gallon of resto black paint for around $40. It's the stuff the factory uses.:bowtie:
