Been searching for a few days now but im getting conflicting information and was wondering if I could get some help from you guys.

On my build sheet the paint code is 507AA

According to this web site 507 is light blue

According to this site and one of the representatives I spoke to over the phone it is Tuxedo Black with Argent Silver for accents. Notice the "AA" on the right side of the chart describing Tuxedo Black/Argent Silver

Here is some pics of samples: The black appears to be under the grey primer and blue. So im wondering is the black the base primer or is that the original single stage they used ? On the cab I only found a red primer for the base beneath the blue for some reason. Im confused

How bout the interior ? Any ideas what color that is ?

I want to keep it original/stocker so I just want to be sure.

it's not uncommon to have conflicting colors come up with the same code. By the pictures I would say your truck was blue. The black looks like primer.(bare metal, black then blue). Or in the pic of the hood, is the black OVER the blue?

Yeah its black under blue everywhere except the cab. The cab is blue over what looks to be red/rust colored primer.

Thanks for the responses and the help. Im gonna have to call them tomorrow to double check why they told me 507 was Tuxedo Black and why the charts im seeing are conflicting.

Edit: If I take it to a local PPG or SWillys auto paint supplier would they be able to tell me based on the code ?

Also, any ideas on the interior color ? Anyone ?

Bingo ! I think I found it.

This is a parts catalog that came with the truck when I traded for it, 1946-1972 1/2 ton thru 1 ton series 10-20-30 effective date September 1973. On page 85 under general information I found the following paint code combination chart.


Light Blue it is..

Now I just need to find out what the two tone 537 color is. Maybe thats the interior color ?
