I had applied for the pipeline back in November and had done one interview with them. Thanking that I would not get hired on I started working maintenance for a dead end company. Three weeks ago I receive an email saying that they wanted to do a background check on me. After two weeks I decided to call and check on the status of my background check and was informed that there was an offer in the mail for me. All that I can say about the offer is WOW WOW WOW. I feel lucky and blessed at the same time about the offer and about the job. So now this week I have to go in an do a physical and drug test and orientation will be the last part of March or early April in Omaha Nebraska.

That's great news. I remember getting hired at Chrysler back in 76, I yelled when I got off the phone.

I've had two employers contact me this week. Both were in the form of a rejection letter.

Hi Don: Thank you for taking the time out to interview with us for the Route Relief Driver position. Unfortunately, we have decided to pursue another candidate whose background and experience better matched our requirements at this time.

We appreciate your interest in our company. We wish you the best in your search.

Regards,

Thanks buddy. I don't mean to sulk. It's actually nice to be contacted by an employer good or bad. It's kind of weird to find optomism in rejection, but that tells me that they at least showed some interest in me.

Don, sorry to hear of the misfortunes of the job hunts. I have seen many of those letters go through my inbox and at one point I had given up on the pipeline because I had not heard anything back from them. I had interviewed for the pipeline back in December and it was not until the end of February that they contacted me again.

72blckbuty. I have to be in Omaha Nebraska on Monday for training I will be there for two weeks then back at home for two days then back again for two weeks. When everything is all said and done with training I will be working out of Mexico Mo. which is not that bad of a morning drive from home.

Mudder. My wife actually found out that I had the job before me , of course she called me and I was at work already so I could not let out to much. However when I got home of course I had to call and let the rest of the family know. All that I can say is that this job has came at the right time. My wife and I have been doing ok on money however we did have to pull from savings this week in order to pay our house payment.

As the title of the post says Thank you Lord! it is just that. I spent six years in the military and hoped that my time and training there would help me get a job quicker. Unfortunately though I heard time after time again " impressive resume, No college experience?, we were looking for someone a little older, we do not think that you would be right for the job" the list goes on. I fell into the job with the pipeline and I almost did not get it. I had a hard time passing my physical (lung problems) so I had to redo parts of that in order to pass. I found out one thing though and it really hit hard for me. For all of us that smoke quit smoking now. I was a pack a day smoker for almost seven years I am 26 the doctors told me that I had the lungs of a 60 year old non smoker. I quit smoking after the first test and within a week my lung capacity was bigger. I also feel better. Take it for what it is worth but even with the prices going up it was time for me to quit smoking.

Thank you to everyone who has congratulated me on the New job. My wife and I are very excited about the opportunity.

Either is fine. Legally it's Donald. Only people that called me that were my parents when I was in trouble and I knew I was going to get my bu!! kicked.
