Hello everyone! I have been lurking for quite some time. I just picked up a 72 C10 longbed about a month ago. It has been slow progress. This old girl has been a chore so far just trying to get rusty bolts loosened up and such. I live in San Antonio. I have posted a thread in the new members area with a few pics..

I really look forward to becoming an active member here, and hope to meet some of you locals! The 67-72 trucks have always had a soft spot with me since I was very young. I have finally found one that was in my price range and deffinently a project! This is a father/son project, and a huge learning experience for us both at times!

The truck as a whole is pretty darn solid. The cab needs new rockers, floor, cab corners, the normal. But the frame and the rest of the panels are pretty nice. I am going to rebuild the whole front suspension and replace all the bushings and cab mounts throughout the truck. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will have everything torn down to the bare frame so we can clean it up and put a fresh coat of paint on it as well as clean up and paint all the suspension parts and rearend.

For the most part, it is going to stay pretty stock. I plan on lowering it and just doing a mild rebuild with the 350. Currently it has a Muncie 420 transmission with a PTO attached. I will more than likely reuse it to begin with as well. Down the road, once it is all back together and we can actually cruise it for a while, we will build up a beefier motor/trans combo to drop in it, etc.

Anyhow, I will create a project thread for it! Glad to be here, I love this site!

Sounds like a good plan! I wouldn't really call myself local but hopefully we'll meet up sometime. I've been known to travel a few miles to meet up with board members:D
