How many people do you plan to bring to the 2009 Midwest Meet?

In the poll select how many, then post your details (kids, staying at a hotel, need an RV spot, need electricity, etc...)

oh, and i know plans can change at the last minute, but if you're 70% sure you're coming, respond to this poll.

4 Adults, 3 kids and a dog.

Tenting it. Bringing my '69 and hopefully the '50. Also may be bringing a buddy's '03 and a couple jet ski's.

Details? When, when and why? Just a thought for those that seen this and not the other.

I marked a spot for only 1, but I might possibly have a second person attending.

I will be bringing my '69, and at this time no other accomodations are needed.

I'm planning on only being there on Saturday but that is apt to change between now and then.

If the weather is nice, I'll be in the Blazer with the top off, if rainy...be driving the 72 truck.

Ivel.. maybe I can save you some frustration. If your planning to run the jet ski's at the lake, they'll tell you no. Kinda crazy, but they don't allow jet ski's, outboard motors over 90 HP or boats with inboard motors. Just wanted ya to know in case...;)

I meant to post that the lake has specific requirements about HP allowed on the water, so I'm glad that Slick71 stepped in. :D

have all intentions on being there with my 68 swb i put 2 but might be just me i'm sure my dad (sammy) will post up soon not sure on where we will stay but possibly a room

There are several hotels in the area, (Comfort Inn is clean) that should offer competitive rates for those members staying in a hotel.

I am coming and bringing my fiancee. We will be driving cough, cough, her 69 K, hopefully 20. LOL If not we'll drive my 05 Dodge. I think we might tent it out but not for sure yet. Oh yeah, is alcohol allowed at this park? Figuired I'd ask before I brought down some brewskies.

hmmm, if it's just the 2 of us, that would be me and my daughter. She's just 11 and even thought she thinks she is much older and she thinks she can drive, it's just not true yet :) If it's 3 of us then that means my girlfriend would be coming too and maybe she can drive the automatic :)

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to meeting some of you. I haven't posted much on the board but have been lurking for a while. I even met some of you at the midwest nationals last year. Sounds like a great event.

I am going to have to work that weekend, I have can drive by that way on my way home from work, not sure whether I will be stopping in on Saturday or Sunday...or even at all, never sure when or where I am going at work. Would like to put some faces with the pics I see on here. I will not be bringing truck (it is in the shop for frame-up resto-rod), will be in my Buick or Expedition. Where exactly is everyone going to be at, one of the camp grounds or picnic spots by the water? Just like to know where to look...I guess I can just look for old trucks, lake/ park ain't that big! I have a friend who may come by in his 69.

sounds like we have a couple other guys from Iowa who are planning to come down for Saturday only.

We are still planning on coming down. The plan right now is to have Matt's 69 drivable and I will either drive my 40 Ford or tow my Vette down. I have no old trucks running right now and the only one cool enough to drool over is really a pita to haul if there are any low wires. LOL

I am planning at this point to attend in my 69 GMC...I think she's ready for a road trip. Probably going to camp depending on the weather, that way I can drink and not drive. :) Will see how thinks go the next couple weeks....

We need to plan a convoy into Kirksville to a Sonic or ?? DQ with all the trucks prior to dusk on Saturday say..3pm or so. Can we do this?? Anyone know??

Still planning, and still only me (bummer). Taking that friday off, so I will be able to convoy with Ivel. Shooting for a spot with electricity, just a tent, but you never know when some sparks will come in handy.

lets all try and get a spot in campground one near the lake. It looks like there are some flat spots there for us tenters, and the playground isn't far away for the kids.

I will call tomorrow to see about reserving some spots.

as for a sonic cruise in, absolutely! lets play it by ear on when exactly, but i think sometime in late afternoon will be best. gives us time to get back and fire up the grills before dark on saturday.

I am sure most have heard that a tornado went through Kirksville on the 13th, it tore up a lot of homes and business on the north end of town. I don't think it will effect your planned get together at the lake. I guess the storm travelled from Milan to Kirksville (then keep on going east), this would have put Thousand Hills in it's path....never heard about any damages to the park. Just giving everyone a heads up. This was not your typical tornado...it preyed upon a high-end sub-division (lake estates across from chevy dealer, the dealership is toast too) instead of a trailer park...lol. Sorry, I guess that was in bad taste.

yeah, i'm not sure what we're going to see once we get there. I'm not to worried about damage at the park since most all of us are tenting it anyways.

I know there are like 300 FEMA trailers up here as left overs from last years storm that hit parkersburg. I hope they get some of those down there for the people who lost their homes.

Hey everyone,

Looks like my trucks decided for me which one I will be driving to this meet. It seems as if the K10 SM465 broke a shifter pin or something tonight. It still shifts but the shifter moves horizontal in any gear. It is a little difficult to get into reverse since it wont work against the spring detent. Oh well, I'll get it fixed but not by this weekend. Good thing I got the TH350 leak fixed in the c10 (selector shaft seal).

Anyway, I am planning on leaving KC area Sat morning to get to kirksville hopefully just before noon or so. I am undecided yet as to whether or not I will stay the night or drive back sat night. Anyone from KC area want to meet up and caravan to kirksville??
