View Full Version : Who makes the best rockers?
NevadaDVX 04-26-2009, 08:04 PM Bear with me people, I am fairly new at this resto thing. I am a 35+ year bodyman by trade and agreed to do some side work for a lady who wants her 71 Cheyenne done up. Anyway, I deal with aftermarket parts daily in the collision trade and know some are better than others. Is there a manufacturer who makes rockers that are heavier or stamped better than the rest? If so, where can I buy them on the west coast. I don't want to be screwing around with parts that don't fit.
Thanks for any help.
Richard8971 04-26-2009, 08:14 PM I hope one of the board vendors can help you!

outlawc 04-26-2009, 09:10 PM I have found the Tri-Plus to be the heaviest gauge. I havent put them on myself but hear that they are the best fit also.

Great, thanks. I think I read somewhere that Goodmark is now Tri-plus. Are they one in the same?

Thanks for the advice. I ordered a set of Tri-Plus rockers from Classic Heartbeat that showed up today. VERY nice, well stamped, heavy parts even if they are Chinese. ;)
trixter99 05-03-2009, 12:03 PM Are you not able to get them from the dealer? I bought a set from GM a while ago they were pricey but definatley the best fit.

To tell you the truth, it never crossed my mind. I assumed they were long out of production.

Livrat 05-05-2009, 11:34 AM I have installed many sets of both GM and Tri plus rockers.. the tri plus fit as good if not better than the OEM ones.. (they even weigh in at about a pound more!).. since the OEM ones run about $250 a pair the the repops are $50.00I will always sell the GM ones to the guys who insist on OEM and use the tri plus ones on my projects..

So I guess new OEM ones are still available? Like I said in the original post, I am a bodyman by trade and after seeing these Tri-plus rockers, I can't imagine the factory ones being any better. I haven't fit them up yet, but they look very good for a first impression and like you said, they are a lot heavier than I expected.
barthmonster 05-06-2009, 05:58 PM you must have called them, their website seems to only show rockers on '67-'72 that are $19.95, not $50. How much are the good ones and a ballpark on the shipping ??

It ran me $58.11 for both rockers shipped from Washington state to Nevada. So, shipping for me was roughly $18.

Tri-plus are the good ones.. I have used ones from Tabco years ago and they used to be nice but now they must have changed manufactures, the last set I recieved they were so bad I tossed em out..
Classic Heartbeat has tri-plus and lists them for $19.95ea and other vendors have them listed up to $24.95ea.. either way thats $40 - $50 pair. plus shipping.
Not sure what shipping would run you. Since Classic Heartbeat is local to me I usually go pick them up in person...
