I'm down to the final assemble on my truck but can't seem to figure out how to put the trim on the tail lights and tail gate. Looks like it should be pretty straight forward.................put the clips in the trim piece and snap it on right? I've spent several hours trying to get the clips to fasten to the body with limited success. I had to walk away from it before parts started flying.
Can anyone share some tips or tricks?
Thanks,
Jeff

It appears like I'm not the only one having trouble with these clips.
Anyone have good success?

Are these new aftermarket or original mouldings? If new aftermarket it helps to dimple the inner flange to lock the retainer so it does not slide away from the hole. What problem are you having? Some of the clips that are supplied are crap. Also are the holes painted or newly drilled? If not painted it helps and also some type of sealer of choice to keep the clip from scracthing the paint so it won't rust and streak.

Thanks Mike,
I've put a little weather strip glue on the clips before trying to set the and have had a little better success. My problem seems to be the aftermarket clips that just don't hold onto the hole in the body. Any idea where to get some quality clips?
