Just wondering about how to handle some of my spot rust. the truck will hopefully be painted this next spring/summer but since I recently purchased it, I was wondering what the best thing to do with some small spot rust on some of the body. It has a pi$$ poor paint job on it and there is some small dime size bubbling on the front of hood, couple spots on fenders but thats about it. Of course rockers are shot and floor needs patch panels but how should I correctly fix up the spots so they don't advance any further. Checked with screwdriver and metal is solid. What do you experts suggest? Thanks!

If the area is only dime size, this is what I would do. Get one of those small sand blasters that have the nice rubber tip on the end. That way the sand is contained in one spot. Blast the rust. Then use a q-tip to brush on some etch primer and then some touch up paint. You will be able to see the repair, but it will kill the rust.
