I saw this in another section, and thought it would be cool to know exactly what people did when they're not working on their trucks

I am a manager for Noble Hardware. My aunt, uncle, and cousin opened the store in 1985. My aunt and uncle sold it to my cousin in the early 90's. I'm hoping to also be the owner down the road. It's kind of my retirement plan. It's always been family owned, and operated. We're not as big as the box stores, but I like to think we provide a better customer friendly experience than they do.

I work for Advance Food Company in Enid, OK. I am a regional supervisor and I am the DOT Safety Compliance officer for the company. I also supervise our inbound dispatcher and our Transportation Service Representatives.
Also, when not working on trucks my other hobby is restoring antique tractors which I happened to be working on tonight. I just cleaned up and fired up a new tractor that I purchase a couple of weeks ago. Kyle

I'm a distributor for Amway, and I'd love to talk to each of you about starting your own business sometime.

Just kidding. That's what I tell people at parties that ask that question. In real life I'm a computer programmer. When people hear that, they almost always start pumping me for info about their computer ailments. The Amway deal usually shifts the conversation to something else immediately. I love to see the deer-in-the-headlights look on their faces.

I know what you mean though, I used to run a computer business in Enid while I was attending Phillips University and everyone still comes to me with the computer problems. However, I was mostly in the hardware side of it. I still build my own and play around with stuff but not like I used to. I'll go ahead and hit you with a question first though....... what's the best avi to mpg4 converter to use? I have videos from this years truck meet that I need to convert and upload!

I am self employed again. I have my own construction business. It's mostly residential and mostly remodel but I do new construction as well as some light commercial. I'll get around to putting up some pics of stuff soon so you guys can check it out. I actually get alot of friends and family hitting me up for this too!

i work at Stillwater Design "KICKER car audio" as a tech. and yes the rumour of our first lay off is at hand on the last friday of this month. i feel i should be fine thou because i have been here awhile and our tech department is small and besides you can not have electronics and no tech, but we will see how it goes from there...:smoke:.....

on a side note with the above stated, i have always been into tinkering and a fan of metal work. i have been doing research and i guess i will ask (test the water) you classic truck/car enthusiasts. i am looking at getting into the plasma business as some extra income and who knows maybe have enough supply/demand to go on my own someday, and have my name on this board as respectful helper. i am going to be starting small and see how things go from there. the machine will be able to cut up to 3/8" thick plate, and the software is very open. I have a friend that is certified as a welder for anything beyond my skill. i am looking into mostly one off brackets for those custom setups, and a ton of other small things. what would you guys like to see "part wise" to help build or further your projects. pm me any thoughts or ideas. :chevy:

Just saw this thread. I just started a make-ready company. We specialize in apartment make-ready (clean, paint, etc), but also do foreclosure and eviction clean outs for banks and property managers. Before that I was an estimator for a small renovation company. Prior to that I worked on an underwriting team for a commercial insurance company for eight years.

Its been slow going, but I think it'll pick up in the spring and summer. The hardest part is just letting people know we're out here.

When I worked for the renovation company we received a lot of calls for that type of work. My boss wasn't really interested as he liked doing the bigger jobs. I hated turning them down, so I figured I would just do it myself. We'll see how it goes. I think it'll do well once I get a few regular clients. I've already hooked up with Spirit bank to do foreclosure clean outs and I put in a bid at an apartment complex on Monday. Wish me luck!

Man i wish i could say i did but, i just got home from houston about 3 weeks ago. I had been there in MD Anderson Cancer hospital for about 2 months and the stuck in Houston for another 2 months for observation after my stemcell transplant. In all ive been in and out of treatment for the last yr, so the c10 had to be put on hold.

BUT,,, i do have 83 and 85 C10's sitting and waiting for me to jump on. Along with a full dropmember setup including tubular arms from SD. And 2 weeks ago i ordered the full rear paralell 4-link and watts link setup that SD just started making for the 73-87 C10's. They havent even shipped any of these out yet. I should be one of the 1st people to have the setup. I hope to start on the project in the next few weeks. Check out this link for the reat setup, its a hella sweet.
